Many legends are dying this year...Dawson died from complications of esophageal cancer on June 2, 2012 at the age of 79, according to his son, Gary Dawson, who announced his father's death via Facebook. He was in The Running Man movie, the original host of Family Feud, and Match Game.

RIP Dawson. I wasn't alive to see the classic Family Feud, but he is no doubt a household name, and left quite a legacy.

As an elementary school kid during the 1970's, I would go home and watch Match Game at 2:30...still watch Match Game on GSN 'cuz I like seeing Brett, CNR and Richard interact with Gene Rayburn!
