I actually really like the artwork I dont have volume 2-3 and im missing disc four of volume 4 and the rest are scratched. So i think ill buy these

These look polished and amazing but I prefer my original DVDs and have no desire to buy a season over again when my discs are still in mint condition

Maybe so, but wouldn't it make more sense if they saved a secondary character like Morbo for future sets instead?

Not really, cause then you'd get people saying, "boy they're running out of characters, why don't they start repeating or get new designs?"

they probably would've used bender or leela if they hadn't already been used for volumes 5 and 6.

Shame, this sort of kills any hope of these characters appearing on future volumes.

Comparison pic. Amy looks good, but the others don't look as good as 5 and 6. Maybe due to the muddy colors or Morbo seeming out of place. It's like putting Kent Brockman on the cover of season 2 of the Simpsons DVDs.

Widescreen isn't a big deal for me with the old episodes and they could have just replaced Morbo with Nibbler. Volume 8 could be Hermes and 9 can be Zoidberg.

If we're lucky enough to get a 10th/11th (Due to the way Comedy Central orders 26 and splits them into 13 episode broadcast seasons)...stick Cubert on 10 and Scruffy on 11.

There's obviously some hardcore marketing going on here since Fox threw out the money to redo the artwork, but maybe they understand that many people already own Volume 2, so Fox is not that concerned with selling copies? This may also justify the choice of Amy - arguably she is the least marketable character of the main characters, especially among male buyers. If that's the case I think it would have actually been smarter for them to use more secondary characters for volumes 1-4 and save Fry and The Professor for where the big bucks can be made on later releases.

I always did hate the packaging of the new ones, though. One fell out and rolled all around, completely scratched to the point of unplayable, and I didn't even notice.

god i fucking hate the screwed up structure of these things. i wish they just went by production runs and had the movies released at some point in a box set, calling it vol 5, and the 2010-11 seasons as vol 6.

it eats away at me.

^ Is that Zoidberg cover real?; it looks really good (he should have been on the Vol.2 cover instead of Morbo), but isn't it a bit early for them to announce how the cover will look like seeing as the season just has started?
