This is a thread to discuss their films. I might re-watch them to do proper reviews.

The marketing for that new crappy Madagascar film is killing me. I used to think Chris Rock was funny, but those ads tell me otherwise.

You mean this doesn't make you want to watch it?
Same here. I liked the first Madagascar, which was okay, the second one was really boring, and the third one really looks lame. I like very few of Dreamworks' films, such as the first Shrek film, and I thought Shark Tale was decent.
I haven't watched these films in a long time, but once I re-watch them I'll change my scores.
Dreamworks Animation
Shrek- 4 or 4.5/5
Shrek 2- 3.5 or 4/5
Shark Tale- 2/5
Madagascar- 3/5
Over The Hedge- 3.5 or 4/5
Shrek 3- 2/5
Bee Movie- 2.5/5
Kung Fu Panda- 4.5 or 5/5
Madagascar 2- 3.5/5
Monsters Vs. Aliens- 2.5/5
Shrek 4- 3/5
How To Train Your Dragon- 4.5 or 5/5
Kung Fu Panda 2- 4.5 or 5/5

anyway:
Ice Age- 3/5
Ice Age 2- 1/5
Shrek- 5/5
Shrek 2- 3/5
Shrek 4- 4/5
Over The Hedge- 4/5

Shrek 2: 5/5
Shrek 3: 1/5
How to Train you Dragon: 4/5
Kung Fu Panda: 4/5
KFP2: 5/5 (favorite animated movie)
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
i used to like Ice Age and Shrek way back when......but they don't hold up for me now. Bee Movie is probably the only one i like to re-watch (and it's mostly because of jerry's voice).
Dreamworks:
Shrek - 5/5
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron - 4/5
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas - 2.5/5
Shrek 2 - 4.5/5

Madagascar - 3.5/5
Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit - 4.5/5

Kung Fu Panda - 3.5/5
Madagascar 2 - 2/5
Monsters vs Aliens - 3.5/5
How To Train Your Dragon - 5/5
Shrek 4 - 3.5/5
Megamind - 3.5/5

I have a sudden urge to also review films from other animation studios. Should I change the name of the thread to "The Non-Pixar Animation General Disscussion"?
Sony Pictures Animation
Open Season- 1.5/5
Surf's Up- 3/5
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs- 4/5
I don't really want to rate them, because I'm not really into Dreamworks.
I guess Antz, Shrek and Kung fu Panda have my attention as classics.
I'm formal. But I'm here to party.
Sony Pictures Animation:
Monster House - 4.5/5
Open Season - 2.5/5
Surf's Up - 3/5
The Smurfs - 1.5/5
Arthur Christmas - 4/5
The Pirates! - 4/5
What the hell is Antz.
One of the best animated films of all time
Google it
Antz was Dreamworks first CGI animation. Pretty much why Pixar and Dreamworks got off on a
bad foot. The whole who copied who scenario.
I guess if I had to pick I prefer Blue Skies Studios over DreamWorks.
Even though probably favour Shrek.
Wiki fun facts:
- (Antz) It features the voices of well-known actors such as Woody Allen, Sharon Stone, Jennifer Lopez,
Sylvester Stallone, Dan Aykroyd, Anne Bancroft, Gene Hackman, Christopher Walken, and Danny Glover.
( I think thats a good cast! )
- The movie was released a little more than a month before Pixar's A Bug's Life.
- As of today DreamWorks have released up to 23 feature length films, Pixar with only 12
films and little Blue Sky studios with just 6 feature length films.
huh...i always thought Antz just ripped off A Bug's Life. either way A Bug's Life is a million times better then Antz.
I actually saw Antz in the movies when I would have been 9 or 10 I guess...didn't care for it. To be fair though I haven't watched it since so who knows, maybe I'd enjoy it more...though I doubt it.
I've read that there was apparently an Ice Age CHRISTMAS SPECIAL with SANTA CLAUS.
Jimbo Jones: [about Homer] I hear that guy's ass has it's own congressman!
Bart Simpson: I wash myself with a rag on a stick.
Homer Simpson: [takes cap out of dryer and puts it on his head] Mmmmm... I CAN feel three types of softness.
Lisa Simpson: [from upstairs] Dad, what are you doing down there?
Homer Simpson: Washing my fat guy's hat honey!
After re-watching the first Madagascar and Ice Age 2 I would have to say that they are slightly worse than I remember. Both get a 2/5.
I sincerely hope the people involved over at Dreamworks know the internet buzz over this "song" is ironic.

To anyone who went to see Ice Age 4 for the Maggie short or the film, did Ice Age 4 suck?
