    Chronology of Simpsons Producers?

Hi all! So I posted another thread trying to speculate as to why the Simpsons aren't as good as they used to be, and a lot of the responses mentioned something about the Simpsons Producers and how different eras yielded different styles of episodes. Could somebody please give me a list of all of the executive producers, years that they were in power, and a description of what Simpsons episodes were like under their influence? Also, what does an executive producer or director or whoever it is that I'm asking about (whatever it is that Al Jean is) do for the show? Also, is the showrunner the same thing as what I am asking about?
Please have the format be something like this:
    Herpy Derpy
    (1880-1881)
Shows under his influence exhibited many of the characteristics of the "Classic Era" of the Simpsons with the added gag of Homer's feet talking instead of his brain.

    Thank you!

That's basically it. However the show has many producers. The Executive producers are the showrunners (Al Jean, and sometimes Matt Selman) AND the original creators (Matt Groening, James L. Brooks and Sam Simon) who aren't involved in the day to day operations anymore. At least that's how I understand it to be.

Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, Sam Simon - Season 1 and 2
Al Jean and Mike Reiss Seasons - 3 and 4 (and sporadically after that)
    David Mirkin - Seasons 5 and 6
Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein - Seasons 7 and 8
    Mike Scully - Seasons 9 - 12
    Al Jean - 13 - now
and Matt Selman has co-executive produced with Al Jean a few times

I'll let someone else do descriptions of each era though

No problem. You can probably find a more detailed description if you did an advanced search for old threads.
