I've kicked around an idea for this thread for over a year now, and I finally just did it.

Ground rules:

Please no complaining about the definition of "classic"... if you like Scully or Jean just as much, cool. But for the purposes of this thread the classic era is seasons 1-9

Seasons should adhere to some sort of real life structure... that means a THOH and a Christmas episode.

I don't think this is a game, because I'd like people to discuss these lists ideally. But if the mods want to move this, that's fine.

more or less, I tried to structure mine like a real season (with the winter episodes grouped together and spaced so that, say I'm With Cupid airs about a month and a half after the Christmas episode, etc.) but that's optional

This way we get the best THOH episode in the post-classic seasons, a Sideshow Bob episode, some secondary character episodes (Moe, Barney) and finally a good range between Homer, Bart and Lisa episodes and a Christmas episode. This also includes one Marge-centered episode and one Maggie episode, almost equivalent to what we get in the classic seasons

Man, some of these were so close to making my list... Skinner's Sense of Snow, Wild Barts Can't be Broken, Gone Maggie Gone being the big ones.

I do feel like mine is heavily slanted toward concept episodes, which might say a lot about how I feel about the show. Though I could totally sub those three I mentioned in.

I noticed that as an actual hypothetical season my list probably doesn't work too well, too many Moe and Flanders episodes and too few Marge episodes, but this is supposed to be our personal picks so I'm fine with it.
