Episodes like this one tell me that freelancing to bring in fresh writing talent needs to be done more often. Strong characterizations, fun gags, on point mockery of LOST and something actually happened at the end that will carry over into future episodes (Shauna and Jimbo are no longer together). Really can't ask for more from an episode.
My only complaint is that the main plot kind of fell apart between Acts 3 & 4.
- Bart and Shauna see Jimbo & his crew are staking out Bart's place.
- They escape to the Android's Dungeon to hide out.
- CBG tips off their location after losing his cyber flame war.
- Suddenly, they're back at Bart's trapped in his treehouse.
Something got lost in editing when they storyboarded that chain of events.
Couch gag: I'm not usually one to enjoy long couch gags, but this one is an exception. Brilliant animation and nice little short story that made me feel happy
Good to see the bullies back in their original characterization instead of being caring like they usually are in newer episodes. Nice to see a Lost reference but it's a little too late for a parody, don't you think? Nonetheless, it's still true what they say about Lost and its flashbacks, they just raise more questions. LOL at Jimbo's girl flashing her tits at Bart. Best thing this whole season yet. Lost went off the air 2 years, not 5 years ago, unless they're talking about the decline of quality after the third season. Haha Ralph crashing into the tree. Good to see Wall E Weasels again; have they ever shown it in another episode besides Radio Bart? Carl is such a BAMF. Funny seeing God and Satan having an arm wrestle, and Fry and Leela making cameos. Pretty good ending that sums it all up
Overall, I give this episode an 8.4 or a 4.2 rounded to a 4. Very enjoyable episode and clever writing, but let down by the Homer plot which was somewhat annoying
Ah heck, I feel like rating all the "Bart gets a girlfriend" episodes.
New Kid on the Block - 8.5
Bart's Girlfriend - 8.6
The Bart Wants What it Wants - 7.7
The Wandering Juvie - 8.4
Little Big Girl - 6.9
The Good, the Sad and the Drugly - 6.6
Stealing First Base - 7.9
So this episode will come in 4th behind Wandering Juvie
Also, I enjoyed how there were no guest stars in this episode, even though there was a fairly new character. It's better like that, using the original cast to voice a minor character. It must be a coincidence but my favourite episodes this season are Future Passed, How I Wet Your Mother and this one, each containing no guest stars (except for Wet Your Mother, even though Glenn Close actually plays a character, not herself)

So... Bart's girlfriend in this episode isn't a guest star.
Props to them at least.
Oh and now she just flashed Bart ahahahahaha this is why I haven't watched episodes in forever
btw couch gag animation was great despite how screwed up it is.
the fact that they did not try to stuff guest stars into its already bloated snackhole was a plus the Lost reference felt dated and bart dating an older girl is overused but as far as new episodes go it was fine
Technically this has only happened once in the past 503 episodes.
He dated Darcy but Laura doesn't count as he only crushed on her and didn't get anywhere with her.
Tonight's ep was like an alternate spin on New Kid on the Block if Laura didn't have any self-respect.
This was actually a semi-realistic approach to the older girl theme because there's no chance of Bart getting anywhere with an older crush except in this scenario... or in the case of him lying about his age, having a driver's license that says he's 16, lying about a fake medical condition and an extremely religious pregnant girl is looking to take the first willing guy that comes along to be a surrogate father. (My god was Little Big Girl terrible.)
This episode was OK
3.5/5,4/5 in the poll

Okay, I watched the zoom-out at the end of the episode-
Springfield is apparently in Illinois.
.
Just another long running gag that Season 23 decided to kill. God, how I hate Season 23.
*Spoiler alert: In the series finale, we find that the entire series was the dream of an autistic child when said child wakes up in bed next to Bob Newhart.
You'd really take that as a guaranteed, legitimate location? This reminds me of how the map from Starship Poopers got people to call into FOX the next day.

An alien is trying to decipher the Voyager message - but wasn't it on a gold LP of some sort, rather than flat?
The show raised more questions than it answers - specifically, In what state is the litter box?

i guess i should correct myself he hasnt dated a lot of older women he just has had too many interactions with women and the idea just seems overused. How many of jimbos girlfriends is bart going to have a crush on?
That was bizarre

Why oh why did that stupid interview with Groening have to happen!!!??!?
This isn't alt.tv.simpsons 1994 anymore!
In a few seasons, Bart will just give up and have a crush on Jimbo.i guess i should correct myself he hasnt dated a lot of older women he just has had too many interactions with women and the idea just seems overused. How many of jimbos girlfriends is bart going to have a crush on?

Episode: "Don't Go Breaking My Bart"
After being rejected by every girl in school while trying to find a date for the school dance, Bart decides to act on his latent homosexuality. At first, Bart considers Milhouse for his new crush, but decides against it, citing Milhouse's insistence that Bart must wear Lisa's clothing. Bart's attention soon turns to Jimbo Jones, whose bald head and callus behavior towards Bart remind him of his father. Hilarity ensues.
B-story, Moe gets a cell phone for his talking bar rag.
The episode is nicknamed "Brokeback Bart" by nohomers.net.

Very good episode. 4/5

Hey ModernSimpsonsRocks...ZOMBIE SIMPSONS! Hahaha!
Seasons 1-9 - Classic era
10-12 - Scully era
13-16 - Silver age
16.5 - Into the abyss
17 - The shit abyss
18-24 - Zombie Simpsons

I, uh, enjoyed it.
I assume there's something wrong with me, but I laughed quite a fair bit. The Lost parodies were dead on, and everybody seemed in character. Except for Carl pulling out the guns. That was a tad bizarre. Pretty damn good for S23 standards, 3/5 by Simpsons standards.
Really, "Zombie Simpsons" sounds harsh.
I prefer "Modern Simpsons" or "Late-Jean Era"
My Simpsons Season Ranking:

...Or "The Simpsons".

Very, very good! Both plots were given a good amount of time to develop, and Shauna really seemed like the kind of girl for Bart. I don't understand why Marge suddenly forgave Homer out of the blue like that, but that's pretty much the only thing I didn't like. Highlights were definitely "Now it's time to talk about what Carl wants" and the flame war. 5/5!
