    The Simpsons in Syndication

So I find myself not watching The Simpsons in Syndication as much as I used to.

I don't even know when its on anymore, when I was a kid I knew on the dot every time and channel it was on, and in Toronto you could catch it on like 5 or more times a day. At 5 you could catch it at 5 o clock on CBC, 6 on CMFT (now Omni) 730 on FOX 29, 9 on Teletoon and 11 on Fox. It switched around, for example you could no longer catch it at 730 on fox by the millenium, it moved to 630 on omni and they eventually started playing it at 1030 as well, it moved from Teletoon to comedy network and a few years ago CBC dropped it. after that I kinda stopped watching it on TV and moved to WTSO.Net or DVDs. As far as I know its on omni at 630 and 730 and then omni 2 at 10 or 10 30. Fox plays it twice and comedy plays it at 8. The problem is, its all NEWER EPISODES. seasons 15-20. whereas I own seasons 6,7 and 8 and I am gonna grab 3,4,5 and 9. Nowadays I find myself watching American Dad, Robot Chicken and Dudesons repeats and sometimes family guy

Heh, I made a thread about this last year, before I became a mod...anyway yeah, I only get one episode a day in syndication now as opposed to several when I was a kid, and not even on FOX which instead shows CBS shows! Now Family Guy on the other hand....airs at least four times every weeknight, usually twice that

    here's an idea

now they have cable boxes that can record shows, like tevo. or you can go to

    http://www.fox.com/thesimpsons/full-episodes/7741550/

to watch full episodes of the Simpsons on fox. or maybe you can go to

    http://www.hulu.com/the-simpsons

to watch them on hulu. of course, they only have the newer episodes but this is the best i can do.

When I lived in Milwaukee, The Simpsons were on at 6pm and at 10pm Monday-Friday and the usual time on Sunday. When I was in Green Bay last night, I had noticed that they seem to air episodes at the same times in Milwaukee. It's been a change since I've moved to where I live now because they only air the Sunday episodes.

I never try to catch The Simpsons on TV anymore. Sometimes I stumble upon it, and watch an episode or two. But I really have better things to do when the majority of episodes shown are dull Jean ones.
Favourite/least favourite by seasons that I own (somewhat stolen from Financial Panther):

    3 - Dog of Death/When Flanders Failed 4 - Lisa's First Word/So it's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show 5 - Secrets of a Successful Marriage/Bart's Inner Child 6 - And Maggie Makes Three/Another Simpsons Clip Show 7 - Marge Be Not Proud/Bart the Fink 8 - Homer's Phobia/The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase 9 - King of the Hill/Trash of the Titans 10 - Wild Barts Can't Be Broken/Maximum Homerdrive

Mine are also Season 22 currently, although they did air most of Season 3 a month or two ago amazingly, usually it is only 20 - 22 though.

Same as TheOttoThe for the syndication changes over the years. It's gotten so bad, I can see a time where the Simpsons ISN'T in syndication anymore becoming a reality. At this point a Simpsons Channel should exist. They could show interviews, documentaries, and anything Simpsons related. If they ever did I would subscribe in a heartbeat.
Oh Thats Raspberry: Now Family Guy on the other hand....airs at least four times every weeknight, usually twice that.
Sometimes where I live I can flip past 2 channels and there both playing Family Guy. It has to be on 6 or 7 times a night here. The Simpsons on the other hand comes on twice, and like TheOttoThe said, it's always newer episodes.

The only free to air channel that shows The Simpsons in my country is one of those digital channels, I haven't bothered to get a set top box yet.I think they turn off all analog broadcasts in a few months.

What I like about the comedy network, once it gets passed a certain limit (usually 1 or 2 seasons behind whats on sundays) then it restarts, so after maybe 2-3 weeks I can catch the prime (imo seasons 2 or 3-10)

I see this Animation Domination channel currently in development as being a station where The Simpsons will finally make it to cable. They could probably still do Simpsons for half the schedule or so, but it will still have the variety of other shows that advertisers won't simply lose interest in a week. And if it does pump out Simpsons reruns, I hope they go random - it's more refreshing to get episodes from different seasons than to flip on the TV and realize you have to expect all season 2 for the next few days...

My Network TV in Green Bay does 6 and 6:30 every night. And unlike the people who claim their syndicates only play recent seasons, we get a great variety of old and new. If anything, I don't see the newest season on enough, and I'm sure we wait much longer for it than other cities do when it hits syndication.

I think the Comedy Network played the entire series from season 1 about a year and a half ago. It took over a year to air them all, but it was great to see those old episodes on TV again. They should do this again, it was fun to look forward to The Simpsons for a change.

It would be great to see the show in random order(being that's how I grew up on it) as it would allow you to CHOOSE to watch new episodes, rather than have them forced on you.

I barely watch TV anymore as it is, much less The Simpsons. I think the last time I watched TV for more than a few minutes was when that jet crashed in VA Beach a couple weeks ago.

I like when Syndication quickens up the intros. They need to do that for some recent intros cuz theyre way too long. I used to hate how difficult it was to grab episodes I didnt have though due to random airing. Never saw Lisas Substitute till late last year because of that. Didnt even know it existed.

Here in Atlanta it's only shown on MyAtlTV (formally theWB, also sister network to our NBC affiliate WXIA-TV) weeknights at 6pm, but sadly they only show episodes from about season 19 up to now which really annoys me because out of a handful of those they show the same ones a million times sometimes twice within a two week timespan! When theWB was still around, it was syndicated from either 6-7pm, 6:30-8pm, or 7-8pm and they showed the episodes in chronological order from Season 1 onward. I don't know if they lost sndication rights to the older seasons or not, but it seems like ever since the transition to MyAtlTV they stopped showing them to focus on the newer seasons.
Jimbo Jones: [about Homer] I hear that guy's ass has it's own congressman!
Bart Simpson: I wash myself with a rag on a stick.
Homer Simpson: [takes cap out of dryer and puts it on his head] Mmmmm... I CAN feel three types of softness.
Lisa Simpson: [from upstairs] Dad, what are you doing down there?
Homer Simpson: Washing my fat guy's hat honey!

My station doesn't even bother going back before the thirteenth season anymore, and they now air them on weekends. So, I don't watch syndication anymore.

I haven't watched the Simpsons in syndication in years. I only watch the the DVDs just because it's easier that way.

Ask and you shall receive. The Comedy Network here in Canada (I don't know if Americans also get this channel) is showing the series, in order, one episode a day again. Season 1 just finished last night, so Bart Get's an F should be on tonight.

    EDIT: except Sundays

I used to watch it daily as a kid, it was on from 5:00-6:00 on weekdays. I wasn't really allowed to watch the show, so I "sneakily" watched it in syndication when nobody was around (I was officially allowed to watch the new episodes with my parents around season 7). Nowadays, they play maybe 3-4 episodes on Saturday, and that's all. I think they are airing season 21 or 22 now. I almost never watch it in syndication anymore, partially because I have 14 seasons of the show on DVD, and partially because I'm in no hurry to re-watch the newer episodes, even though there are sometimes good ones.

I'm never home to watch it. I'm at work. But I can usually catch the latest episodes on Hulu.

If The Simpsons ever stopped being on at 6 o'clock on weeknights here in the UK, I'd probably leave my childhood finally.
I even remember a Simpsons watch cereal giveaway advert playing on the fact the simpsons was at 6. every child knew that.
