Nobody at work can shut up about this movie. At least twenty people are all planning to go to the midnight showing. They invited me today and I said I'd have to get back at them.

I need to socialize with coworkers outside of my job, but I'm not sure if I need to this much.

When I saw the previews for this film, I wanted to rip off the head of the nearest teddy bear.

Actually I hear Brian when I listen to it...there's hints of Peter that slip in there, but it seems to be primarily the "Brian voice" (Which is more or less Seth's speaking voice).

Can't have too much of one, being an R-rated movie. Usually a "good" opening for R is what, $30 to $40 million?

And I think I might go see this. If it's an hour and a half, it's gotta have some story holding it all together...at least more than a Family Guy episode. For such the trainwreck people are predicting, Family Guy and American Dad still make me laugh much more than modern Simpsons.

well i mean it's possible this has the highest opening weekend for an R-rated film or something. i only asked because it's seth macfarlane and even though on here he gets criticized a lot, i know a lot of people who absolutely love his shows and i bet are really excited

Looks like Ted is making a cameo in that crappy "Family Guy Online" game.

The trailers show no signs of a plot.

Desipte my contempt for Seth MacFarlane and his co-called 'comedy' (South Park's 'Cartoon Wars' Parts 1 and 2 sum up what I think of him), I'll still probably end up seeing this.

Why? Well, I see a lot of movies and film criticism is a little hobbie of mine. I enjoy ripping apart shit.

IMO, American Dad is the only thing of Seth's that's still decent, and he only does the voices.

I must admit that I find American Dad funny. I've only seen seasons one to five, mind...

    you'd probably like 6-7.

i still need to see 7 but consensus is, from what i know, is it's about the same consistently as the previous ones.

Hehe no, not at all. I was going to watch them but got caught up in other series. I don't know when I'll actually get around to watching them but hopefully it'll be sometime this year.

According to Wikipedia, the eighth season airs in late September.

Now, The Cleveland Show is one I actively hate. People lap that shit up like its good writing.

Oh really? Sorry, I may not have even had an account then.

I tried to find the thread you're talking about but couldn't find it (by title, anyway).

What was the general consensus from users here?

it's in the animated discussion forum under the title "who do people hate the cleveland show".

no one really talked much about it, we were all busy trying to get explanations for the ridiculous shit that was said in the Opening Post

    Okay found it, thanks.

And, if you say this show sucks, then you're pretty much saying Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill, and the Simpsons suck because it's the exact same format as the Cleveland Show.
    I don't... I don't even...

one of the reasons i dislike cleveland show is i'm racist against black people.

i've never openly admitted this, but someone on a different website said it, so it's got to be true

My review, and it complains spoilers so be warned.

I thought it was a pretty mediocre film. Ted was not a funny character in the slightest and I only laughed twice during the entire film: the scene with Ted's job interview and the part where the main guy called the police to report that his teddy bear got stolen. It contained way too much of the stupid humor that's found in modern Seth shows and I found myself shaking my head like "what the fuck is this?" during most of the film. It didn't really pick up until  Ted got kidnapped and even then, that was really near the end.  I did think that the sentimental scenes were handled very well, however.  I actually cared about the problems the main character was having and I also felt genuinely sad when Ted was thought to have died.

Overall, I'd give it a 5/10 (C-), which would probably be a good grade for anything Seth had put out in recent years.
