Two Versions Of The S11 Box Set

Back in '08 I got the non-limited edition Season 11 DVD set new for a cheap price and it had the open side (like the S1 to 10 sets) when you just slide out the inner casing which has the discs and there's no side you have to open first to get the contents out (as seen in the following pic which i found after a quick Google search; the inner casing can be seen protruding out a bit from the side of the normal, non-limited set):

Well, today visited the local movie rental place where they also sell movies and TV series on DVD & Blu-Ray and they had all the Simpsons box sets in stock (the non-limited editions, naturally). When I took a look at the S11 sets, I saw that they now had the closed side like the S12 to 14 sets where you have to open up one of the sides first to get the inner casing with the discs out (the new side had Sideshow Mel and Bob pictured on it).

Is this a new running change or something?; It's the first time I've seen they do a change to any of the boxes so I have to say that I am a bit surprised.

I'm guessing it is; 20th Century Fox must be implementing this on all of their DVD's; I don't know what the reason would be but I'd assume it would be to make the lives of the DVD consumer easier.

I preferred the old one, the new packaging is flimsy and less simple.

If this be true, I may actually want to get season 11 now.

    It's "Season 11: Good Version!"

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

"One of the keys to life is having a sense of proportion, knowing how long to sit at a restaurant after you've eaten, or how long you should go on vacation if you go to Hawaii for a month on vacation, I guarantee you that by the end you'll hate it. So it's the same with a TV show, you want to do a certain amount of it, so that when people look back on it and they love it. I could have easily done the show for one or two or three more years, but it would have changed the way people look back at it. I think I made the right decision. Because people like the show now even more than they did in the 1990s, because it didn't get worn out." -- Jerry Seinfeld

I don't think season 11 and good can go in the same sentence...

Scully thought the "jerkass Homer" moniker was an insult to how he thought he was writing for Homer. So, by having his picture under "Jerkass Homer" that would be insulting.

and i think it's an insult too. i don't think he would mind since he would never go on this site because of people like you. i can really see why everyone involved with the simpsons hates NoHomers. the only reason i keep changing my avatar is because of the insulting message you sent me.

I understand you're the new guy and you like the seasons a lot of us despise, so I understand it's tough to fit in.

    I forgive you.
