Alright well, I am a hardcore brony so...seeing as making another MLP"FIM topic would be...lame. I'll just say it here. This show is amazing. Screw the "Oh it's pink and frilly, and girly shit" No, no it isn't....well okay its pink...very pink, but the stories are well written, the characters have more depth than any I've seen in cartoons in awhile, dammit I just love the show. This morning's 2-parter was no exception:
You must've watched the worst episode.![]()
Bronies really creep me out. That is all.
Seasons 1-9 - Classic era
10-12 - Scully era
13-16 - Silver age
16.5 - Into the abyss
17 - The shit abyss
18-24 - Zombie Simpsons
The whole Brony thing was very ironically started by a guy on http://www.cartoonbrew.com who announced that the creation of this series marked "The End of the Creator-Driven Era in TV Animation". But yeah, I don't know how an adult male could like the show.
Jason? creeped out? preposterous!
For most bronies it did, I actually found the show in early 2011 when looking up it's creator, Lauren Faust (looking up FHFIF I think) was curious, and watched it on YouTube. I just read the article today.. O_o Bronies exist because the show is well produced, it has humor, it has relatable characters and lessons, it is beautiful to look at, and the resume of the people behind the show is impressive. I don't obsess over it, I don't have any toys, or other merch. Yes bought it on iTunes which has cost me a pretty penny, but it was worth it, it is a great show if you can get past your unfortunate "It's pink and therefore it is for girls only and likely stupid" complex you have here. FIM could have easily been some 22-minute commercial, and by its very existence, it is, however there is character, there is depth, there is a backstory, so please, actually watch the thing prior to making irrational conclusions that fir your controlled perception of social norms.I wrote a piece on Google+ earlier this morning that indeed for some this whole brony thing is just another passing fad, i won't spill it here but if you want to read it it is here Any other cynical biased questions you have for me, feel free to ask.

I watched an episode just to see what the big deal is and I still don't understand the appeal, at all

I don't watch the current series, but I used to love the show from the 80s as a young kid, with the original ponies and the human children. It makes it hard for me to warm up to the show because I'm so used to the old show and because none of my favorite ponies "exist" in this show. But I'm sure I'd love it if I watched it...it's still MLP regardless. And I've heard lots of great things.
It's kind of aggravating, to be honest. Not because of bronies being creepy, but because I used to get a lot of shit for loving Ponies in the past and now the whole world + grown ass men love it. Actually I still get people on my case because "the old ponies suck/are weird, this is modern and current and awesome."
I'm sure it'd be easier to care about new ponies than it is to care about new Care Bears.
I always thought of to not even think of the '80s ponies when you watch this show, because I find that the only similarity is that they're ponies, and only a very select few from the old show are even in this one. The previous ones were Applejack, Spike, and Rainbow Dash, and they have very major character differences.
Yeah that's why I don't watch this new show.
Can't wait until this trend dies off. I normally like memes, but seeing ponies everywhere is so god damned annoying, and makes the show(something that is neither spectacular nor awful, just more decent than it's 80s counterpart) worse than it really is.
And it's most certainly not on the same level as other McCracken/Faust projects like PPG, I don't understand the people that keep saying this. But hey, the internet tells me I'll love Phineas and Ferb too, and then again all I see is a shallow cartoon series with several annoying characters. At least Regular Show and Adventure Time, even though I don't much like them either, are tolerable.

I never said I wasn't going to ever watch "because of," I said that is presently one of several reasons why I do not watch it.
There's nothing unfair about that. I grew up watching the original show, I'm just looking for something to latch on to because the new one is very different. I already said in my other post I would give it a chance.
"But I'm sure I'd love it if I watched it...it's still MLP regardless."
It'd be childish to not watch something for a superficial reason, and I'm not a child.
It's pretty dumb to hate on Loonatics Unleashed just because it's not exactly the same as Looney Tunes from the 1940s![]()
funnyjunk.com is full of bronies and quite frankly, they're getting on my nerves. And they're expanding

Nope, don't like it. Doesn't matter though. It wasn't meant to be the same, and it achieved its goal, however shitty it was.
Well this and Jem went up on Netflix so I'm sure I'll be watching both sooner or later (which, again, never said I wouldn't watch) since I don't even get Hub. Probably Jem first, though, to see how badly it may or may not have aged.
