Trash of the Titans (F)--Here comes Jerkass Homer

(A+) fantastic episode, hilarious, and i've noted my views on it previously.

Trouble with Trillions (F)--Stupid as fuck plot.

(A+) i don't care about plot, and this episode really makes me laugh, which is the main point of watching the simpsons, for me.

All Singing, All Dancing (D-)

(A+) great episode, nothing not to like.

The Last Temptation of Krust (D)--Not funny, except for the comics that guest starred.

(B+) man you really do hate pants.

The Principal and the Pauper (D)--making a shitty episode and then point out it's a shitty episode in the commentary, THEN say "if you didn't like it, then you fell for it!"... Three wrongs don't make it right.

(A) great episode.

* = Based on the qualifier that PLOT and CHARACTER are important to an episode. If you think the family is a bunch of cartoon clowns, please go knock yourself out over Capt. Wacky.

My number one rule when it comes to the Simpsons is if I don't like the characters in the episode, then I most likely won't like the episode regardless of how "Funny" it tries to be. The only person who could make a Simpsons episode gag-driven that well was David Mirkin in Seasons 5 and 6.

The only episodes where I outright hate the character(s) are the Scully episodes where Homer is a raving lunatic, where he crosses the line between a loveable-immature oaf into a complete jackass. His presence actually takes away from any other humor present in the episode.

In "Trash of the Titans", the only time I lol'd was when Homer was being beaten up by U2's bodyguards. I wish the rest of the episode focused on that.

I still think Homer can be funny as a jerk. There's just a very fine line between him being funny and just plain cruel. I mean, Homer is angry throughout a lot of Trash of the Titans, for no good reason, and I can accept that. But him rattling the bird cage for no good reason is just so bizarre it's funny to me. And I love the Love Day set up. Overall I find the episode "okay" but I would be lying if I didn't find Homer, at points in the episode, funny.

It's mainly when Homer becomes a dick towards his family that it crosses a line eg. Kidney Trouble (which I find to be average, to be honest).

Well in Kidney Trouble, I thought that maybe the first time he left was kind of justified because he didn't really know what he was getting into nor the real consequences of what would happen. Though the second one was awful and only there as a time killer.

Seasons 10-12 are much more juvenile compared to 15-23, so that could explain why you're not amused with the last 8 seasons.

Seasons 10-12 made me laugh, but weren't witted. The Simpsons in its current state is an attempt at being witted but fails miserably, the jokes nowadays don't make me laugh. In fact they piss me off, season's 13-16 had decency in it thought.
