I just watched "Smoke on the Daughter"...As a smoker, the episode was pretty damn amusing, and the raccoons were cute...Now I'm gonna watch another episode I've never seen..."Judge me Tender".

I think it's a reference to the death of the main nazi from Raiders of the lost ark. But yeah, like you I never quite got understood why they put it in there. It comes out of freakin' nowhere. The fact I couldn't understand what he was saying (until I watched it on DVD with subtitles) made it even weirder.

Another nasty scene from the same episode that used to freak me out was the exploding eyeballs from the Ren and Stimpy segment.

Yes, it is quite psychologically disturbing, the idea of making a baby distressed in order to take pleasure in comforting the baby.

Also in the non-visually disturbing vein, I've always been disturbed by Mr Burns' line in "Last Exit to Springfield" where he talks about walling a union worker up (alive, presumably) in an abandoned coke oven.
