I never really watched it enough to know, but when I was younger I remember my dad loved it. He's something of a big fan of all things British. I remember he'd watch Keeping Up Appearances whenever it was on too...and then there was this show about vets too that I'd watch with him, All Things Great and Small I think it was called or something similar...man, that was so long ago...
When I was a kid, my grandfather watched after my brothers and I when my parents were at work and we used to watch Mr. Bean all the time!
Mr.Bean was a fixture here on CBC for several years. I watched it quite regularly when I was growing up.
Here's a couple of classics:
Man, I loved Mr. Bean. Have any of you seen the movie?
Favourite/least favourite by seasons that I own (somewhat stolen from Financial Panther):
3 - Dog of Death/When Flanders Failed 4 - Lisa's First Word/So it's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show 5 - Secrets of a Successful Marriage/Bart's Inner Child 6 - And Maggie Makes Three/Another Simpsons Clip Show 7 - Marge Be Not Proud/Bart the Fink 8 - Homer's Phobia/The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase 9 - King of the Hill/Trash of the Titans 10 - Wild Barts Can't Be Broken/Maximum Homerdrive
Yeah, I've seen both movies - they sorta pale in comparison to the magic of the TV series.
I have gone

Film 2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Bean%27s_Holiday
The way I remember it; Mr. Bean's holiday stayed closer to the spirit of the TV series. I also recall finding both hilarious in places but I just think his stories fit the 10 minute or so long vignette form better.

It was a good show, although (from memory) a lot of what I saw seemed to be the assistant getting drunk and the main character going out to farms with quite gruff blokes with poorly cows and sheep. My mum worked on a farm for a while so she used to watch that show when I were a lad. Going to Yorkshire myself I always remember that show, it captured that beautiful bleak, rural landscape pretty well.
Yeah! That's it! I remember it used to be on every morning at like six or seven in the morning and I'd wake up, take a bath, and immediately come downstairs to watch as much of it as I could with my dad...I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 years old at the time...the only episode I can remember vividly was one where they ate this weird bread and they couldn't stop burping or farting because of it, I forget which...memories![]()
I'm surprised that reached America.![]()
I think it was on A&E, or maybe PBS, I know Keeping Up Appearances was on PBS, but I don't really remember for sure...
the first movie was hilariously amazing. the second movie was pretty bad.

best scene from the first movie, called Bean:
whose got the series dvds?
I actually have an old VHS tape called the "The Best Of Bean". It has many of the classic episodes from the series including the ones posted so far in this thread.
The movie was funny and all but not even close to the original series. It was on HBO here in the U.S.
Yup, I do...
REally old, but I still laugh when it's christmas time and his watch gets stuck with the stuffing and ending up with the turkey on his head
Bean sitting in a park trying to make a sandwich from stuff ou of his pocket, so hilarious
Bean going to the swimming pool
And the first Bean movie, that painting redrawn hahahahahahahaha or pulling his middle finger out to everyone( I tried it a couple of times just for fun with some mates, the peoples face were so good)
KPBS in San Diego usually shows the episodes on Saturdays...I used to watch when they were on.
Wasn't the next movie a flop? That's what I heard so I didn't see it.
if by flop you mean not very funny, then yes. i believe it received mixed reviews getting like a 5/10 most places.
I didn't think it was disappointing at all. I enjoyed it.
I lost my interest when the kid stole his camera in the second movie
First movie was funnier, second movie felt more closely related to TV series. Draw from that what you will.
Mr. Bean was always good for a cheap laugh but I can't say I'm a big fan. I loved the swimming pool scene a lot but otherwise I find it hot-and-cold.
I loved his fascination with M & Ms, especially in the movie....I couldn't find any pictures!
