The White Album was the first one I ever listened to from beginning to end. It still blows me away, so I voted for it.
Revolver and Abbey Road are tied for second.
The Beatles best stuff tended to be on their singles though IMO.

Whohoo, the Beatles! There's not much really to say about them, other than the usual influential/amazing stuff. Favorite album is probably either Revolver or Sgt Pepper. White Album is okay but too uneven for me.

Of course, I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes the orchestrated version of "The Long and Winding Road", so what do I know.

I think this is for original studio albums, not soundtracks/singles compilations(hence no Yellow Submarine). If only "Strawberry Fields", "Penny Lane" and " All You Need Is Love" were included on Sgt. Pepper it would put this album over the top for me.

I just bought George Harrison's Greatest Hits. It's pretty good,though it's missing some standout songs (If Not For You, Devil's Radio, etc.)

There were many bands that were similar to the Beatles from that era. The Dave Clark Five started around the same time as the Beatles.

Sorry, you made it sound like you didn't like any of the Beatles material and only liked similar bands for some strange reason.

I lean more towards the 66-70 material myself though there are a few early ones that I like, Yesterday, Help, Act Naturally etc.

I looked on Youtube, but I couldn't find a song by Dan Castalenetta called "Like a dog whose chasing after a ball" that was created to sound like a lost Beatles recording.

It was recorded with a portable tape recorder so the sound is uh, bad, but it was the last and pretty much the only recording of the band in a night club setting. What makes this recording unique is the Beatles are all doped up on uppers and you can hear it because they're ultra-hyper in the songs. When Paul is singing "Long Tall Sally" he's basically screaming into the mic.

looks pretty great, i might have to get myself that album. i sort of pride myself on owning semi-rare (and/or expensive) beatles-related vinyl. i have:

- most of the studio albums on parlophone or apple except magical mystery tour on capitol (this is no big deal for you uk-ers, but in north america, our revolver doesn't have 'i'm only sleeping' or 'doctor robert' on it, and 'i've just seen a face' is the first track on our rubber soul!)
- numbered and embossed white album w/ all inserts (dutch press, late 60's or early 70's)
- two virgins w/ brown paper sleeve (kicking myself for seeing life with the lions in a shop and not picking it up)
- christmas album (only issd. by the fan club)
- live at the bbc
- anthology one (always looking out for affordable copies of two and three)
- let it be ... naked (perhaps not that rare)
- harrison's brainwashed
- mccartney's chaos and creation in the backyard

good god, that seems like a lot, but i'm always lucky and find this stuff cheap. luckily i only go nuts for these guys and some other cat known as 'dylan', otherwise my bank account would not be so happy.

Yeah, it is, but 1962 Live Recordings the most complete CD of the Star Club recordings. It has 30 tracks and the only two songs it is missing, I think, is "Red Hot" (which is only a partial recording) and an alternate version of "I saw her standing There."

Wow, that's quite the collection! The only Beatles vinyl I own are:

1962 Live at the Star Club
Live at the Hollywood Bowl (which I can't seem to remember where I packed it)
A 1964 Capital Interview Album

I went nuts back in the 90's and picked up all the various CDs, though. I've got:

All three Anthologies
Artifacts vol. 1 & 2 (Like the Anthologies, but it has some more obscure stuff)
The "Alternate" White Album (Best Beatles bootleg ever)
Live @ the BBC
1962 Live Recordings
The Silver Beatles (Decca Sessions w/Pete Best)
The 2009 Stereo Remastered Box Set

Wow, that's quite the collection! The only Beatles vinyl I own are:

1962 Live at the Star Club
Live at the Hollywood Bowl (which I can't seem to remember where I packed it)
A 1964 Capital Interview Album

i have some other (less rare) stuff, too - you know, imagine and memory almost full, etc. helps that i only buy this stuff on vinyl, it's usually the same price as the cd.

those are three lps that i see around but they never appear to be in good enough condition for me. that 'interview album' is the beatles story, right? i wanna hear that so bad! i've never been lucky enough to even find so much as a needledrop of it online

I think that's the one and it's in pretty rough shape (it plays, but it's slightly bent). I picked it up back in 1994, or somewhere, but my record player crapped out over a decade ago and I haven't had any urge to buy another on.
