Cool All About Lisa: My foray into drawing The Simpsons

FAIR WARNING:These cartoons are politically slanted, I am an anarchist-capitalist, and an atheist, so...while I doubt there'll be much offense here, I post this because I have dealt with people who can't stand political cartoons.

Anywho, I have just now started drawing The Simpsons, namely, Lisa. I figured since she is my favorite characters, and the most painful to draw, it would make a great starter.

You can see all my work on my deviantART

Below are some of my drawings, the first is done in Adobe Illustrator, the others are done in MyPaint with my Monoprice 10x6 graphics tablet. Comments and questions welcome!

Lisa in a custom dress I came up with...for some reason. Turned out nicely I think.

Here's a political cartoon. It has to do with the recently signed NDAA of 2012.

One of two pro Ron Paul pictures, this one showing Lisa with the "Don't Tread On Me" flag and a Ron Paul badge.

And another pro Ron Paul image, pretty much explains itself.

And yes, I know Lisa and the Simpsons writers are liberal, I however, am not.

No, it wouldn't say yours, I mean, you have museum quality drawings.

They're great, I'm rather impressed by the simplistic line stylings and the impressive artistic design and the political stuff comes across well; you did well with Paint and while they do look well, the one you did in Adobe Illustrator looks cleaner.

Dark Homer would like these photos if he came across them. (he's political like you)

Thank you. To correct one of the other posters, as much as I wish I used MSPaint and pulled off results like that, it is MyPaint, a neat little program that can be found at: http://mypaint.intilinux.com/

Here's a new one from today, if you have a deviantART do me a solid and follow me, I'm Trog2007 and would appreciate it.

For those who don't follow me on dA, here's some new ones. The first is from today, the others are from last week. C+C?

Lisa critiquing my latest custom dress Lisa.

Not to happy with the result of this but still worthy of sharing.

Some pencil work. Usually how I draw and practice. And no...I still can't draw any of the other Simpsons.... :<

To see more, you can check out my deviantART gallery

Well... Homer looks good in his unique way, I'd say you have a great style going for you; shame you can't draw other Simpsons characters but I'm sure you'll find a way to combine their style with yours.

    Keep up the good work!

Why thank you, yeah I've managed to get Lisa done as near-perfect as I think I can do, I started with her one because, if I haven't made it obvious enough she is my favourite Simpson, but also is reportedly the most difficult to draw so I figured start with the most difficult.

Yeah, but surely nobody can help that? If a film is rated 15 for example, it can still be easily acquired by children off older kids/lying but it doesn't mean they cut back on anything for that, otherwise there'd be a lot less freedom of creative expression.

Yeah, I remember those days. Enter a fake DOB and you're in regardless of age.

Also @simpsonsfan there is no rule against swearing but I can see where you're coming from. Regardless, parents need to educate their kids about the dangers of the internet, we can't censor everything you know...

I know cousins, family friends, friends, who are 10-14, I know how they talk, trust me the last thing we should worry about is implanting indecent language into their vocabulary. and yes, I joined MySoace back in 2004, at the age of 12, and I knew several people under the 13 year limit on facebook and there's far worse things there than you will find here.

Back on topic: I need some ideas for pictures. Waiting for my DVDs to arrive and staying with family so I got some time to kill.

We;; thank you. Here's a new one from last night.

For some reason Illustrator was not going to cooperate with filling the strokes correctly but...oh well.

Remember to like and favourite on my deviantART. Maybe watch me too?

Great settings; for the style of the drawing, the proportions are there and it looks really, really cute.

    Keep it up!

Given what transpired in Holidays of Future Passed it eventually DOES happen.
Just not when Lisa's 8 and Milhouse is 10. The best we're going to get from sweet scenes at their current ages is Milhouse wooing Lisa in Italian in The Last of the Red Hat Mamas.
