This one is for you, Thompsons!

Their best effort since the material off 1993's Counterparts, tremendous song. Armour and Sword off Snakes and Arrows was great too, but this has them combining their modern hard rock sound with a sprinkle of the 70's prog-rock era(La Villa Strangiato nod @3:56). I'm really looking forward to the new one in less than a month!
I'm yet to hear their newer stuff other than Caravan but I'm in love with classics like "Limelight", "Tom Sawyer", "YYZ", "Spirit of the Radio", and "Closer To The Heart"!
It's hard to pick a definitve number one song with this band. Working Man, 2112, Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato, Spirit Of Radio, Natural Science, Limelight ( I could go on forever) are just some of my favourites. BU2B was the other new song released with Caravan. Headlong Flight was also released just last month (haven't heard it yet, saving it for when Clockwork Angels is realeased.)
speaking of RUSH:
i learned to hate RUSH in the 80s.
Actually, many fans were turned off Rush with the release of 1982's Signals, too many synths. A pretty good release containing the classic Subdivisons
you guys like hip-hop?
what do you think is hip-hop
This is Hip-Hop (at least the stuff I listen too)
Already posted but I can't get enough of this song:
not for the kiddies (more Miami Bass scene)

OLD SCHOOL!
I'm not a huge hip-hop fan but here are some songs that I like:
Yeah, I was in a big hip-hop (or rap back then) phase from 89-91. I was still too young too listen to stuff like 2 Live Crew and N.W.A. though.
Time Stand Still will always be the number 1 Rush song for me. Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, and Limelight are close to the top as well.
Favourite/least favourite by seasons that I own (somewhat stolen from Financial Panther):
3 - Dog of Death/When Flanders Failed 4 - Lisa's First Word/So it's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show 5 - Secrets of a Successful Marriage/Bart's Inner Child 6 - And Maggie Makes Three/Another Simpsons Clip Show 7 - Marge Be Not Proud/Bart the Fink 8 - Homer's Phobia/The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase 9 - King of the Hill/Trash of the Titans 10 - Wild Barts Can't Be Broken/Maximum Homerdrive
Time Stand Still is in my top 5. Some of Neil's best lyrics and Aimee Mann adds some great vocals as well. It also has a very cheesy video.
Have either you or Mozy (the only other Rush fans on here I presume) seen this?
Beyond the Lighted Stage really focuses on Rush's uncompromising approach to their music as well as being ingnored by the mainstream rock press (Rolling Stone, RnR HOF). It also details how the band almost came to an end in 1997 and their return with 2002's Vapor Trails. A really great documentary.

I scored some free tickets to a 3 day concert in July! Skillet, Papa Roach, Motley Crue, Shinedown, Hinder, Tesla, Hollywood Undead, Seether are all going to be there!
Here's just a little taste of what I'm going to see:
I had tickets to see Motley crew when they toured with Sum 41 I think. I didn't go
Dude, Skillet is awesome live. I was lucky to catch them at a Christian concert last year and they were one of the best live bands I've ever seen. If I had the opportunity to see them again, I would cos they were incredible
I'm super jealous about Papa Roach, Seether, Shinedown and HU there. Would definitely like to see Shinedown especially
[SIZE=1] Check out my South Park episode ideas in my user notes (Note: It's the fifth and last note): http://www.nohomers.net/usernote.php...ewuser&u=41294
"I got blisters on me fingers!" ~ Ringo Starr (Helter Skelter)
Led Zeppelin IV > Houses of the Holy > Physical Graffiti > Led Zeppelin II > Led Zeppelin I > Led Zeppelin III > Presence > In Through the Out Door > Coda
I've seen Skillet twice. The most recent was last October when they toured with Disciple. I'm pretty excited because they're playing on my birthday!
Tesla is not too shabby either and the Crue can be unpredictible live. The rest I can do without.
Anyone a Linkin Park fan? If so, here's there newest single:
Love Linkin Park and their new single. My favourite song by them is Numb, however.
by: Mozy
I prefer this song to Burn it Down more, although it seems to be getting a lot of criticism judging by the dislikes. But I think it's a good combination of Hybrid Theory/Meteora LP, mixed with their A Thousand Suns sound. I mean, the variety this song offers us is mind-blowing. The mix of that heavy chorus with Mike's awesome rapping and Chester's brutal screaming and vocal work, being built up by "YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF" with their own version of dubstep but better. What more could we ask for? Well, maybe for nu metal to return from the dead, but nu metal is dead unfortunately.
I am a major fan of Linkin Park. In fact, while this site was down, I joined the LP Association forum although they tend to piss me off a lot because most of them criticize their first albums for being too whiny and dark. Hybrid Theory and Meteora are masterpieces. Minutes to Midnight has its moments and A Thousand Suns is quite shit. But I am too afraid to say it's shit over there, cos most of the members seem to masturbate to that album and every member will disagree wholeheartedly and send you hate mail and give you a huge lecture on why you're wrong. Fuck them, this forum is my favourite. A Thousand Suns lacks the heavy guitars and energy that was in Meteora and Lies Greed Misery.
Favourite Linkin Park song - From the Inside followed by Nobody's Listening and In the End
Favourite album - Meteora -> Hybrid Theory -> Minutes to Midnight ----------> A Thousand Suns
Can't wait for their new album to leak already! I'm expecting 17 June
I got bored of them since they started playing their new brand of dull rock, seriously I could fall asleep listening to their new stuff, it's like a more electric version of coldplay.

On another note, I think it's great that they're featuring Mike Shinoda more often. Some of the songs without him are good, but at the same time feel like they're missing something.
