RUSH is coming out with a new album within the next month or so and my favorite band, HIM, is coming out with a new album some time this year!

I heard a late May release date for Clockwork Angels. The two songs Rush released in 2010 were very impressive. I hope the rest of the album is this good! (sans anti-religion overtones.)

As for my musical taste? Here's a sample (feel free to question or comment):

The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen + The E-Street Band (RIP Phantom and Big Man), Black Sabbath, RUN D.M.C, Van Halen (mostly Roth era), Cream/Derek + The Dominoes/Clapton, Frank Zappa, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Metallica, Deep Purple, Yes, King Crimson, Billy Joel, Rush, Public Enemy, N.W.A, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Pantera, Queensryche, Dream Theater, Genesis (mostly Gabriel era), Marillion (Fish era), Mastodon and the Dave Matthews Band to name just a few .

    Some crazy shit:

Some good shit (from the greatest live performer of all time):

A personal tribute to saxaphonist Clarence Clemmons who passed away recently. RIP Big Man (the greatest sax solo of all time and how I would have ended "Lisa's Sax")

This is the kinda thing I'm usually listening to. Plus a hell of a lot of Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk.

I guess this would be the best place to post this. An incredible remix of the opening scenes of the Lion King done to the score of The Island by Steve Jablonsky:

I think he was just making the point that you should respect other peoples music, as long as it's genuine and not just made to be offensive. Any genre is cool by me, feel free to post some of your own music up.

And don't be a complete dick and post something that contributes nothing to the thread.

woah woah woah. I just posted the video because I thought it was funny and relevant to the discussion. Ok yeah, I don't really like your music, but it wasn't a personal attack or anything (i realise it probably came off that way though.....), just light hearted "banter", if you will (which I thought you understood considering your earlier response)

I don't think mocking people's taste in music whether it be mine or someone else's is cool (and I consider it personal.) The thing with words (or videos in this case) on a screen is you can't tell when someone is joking or not. It didn't want to completely berate you, so I just posted a couple of the more notorious culprits when the topic of "bad music" comes up. It especially pissed me off when one of my videos was a tribute to one of my musical heroes who is no longer with us.

Just be a little more considerate next time.

I will. But I still think it's a bit weird to be personally offended by someone not liking your music, even if they have passed away recently, though. (not a personal attack, sorry)

I'm gunna bring some discussion to this topic now.

How many people would agree with the statement that old music is better than new music..? I disagree completely but I'd like to see what some people here have to say

That's a pretty wild generalization. There are plenty of new tunes that catch my ear on the radio, but most of the music I listen to is over 5 years old. So yeah, completely undecided.

Everyone has there own personal taste in music. I think it is a part of what makes you unique. As for new vs old? They both have there merits (depending on what you listen to.) The standard cliche, it's all subjective.
