Are there any NEW bands out there that you all would like to brag up?

Pop Evil is a newer band and if you like rock, these guys might grab your attention!

Most of the "new" bands I've discovered in the last few years have actuallly established themselves on the indy scene for sometime, see my examples above. Porcupine Tree started in '87, Dredg in '93 and Mastodon in 2000. I haven't really heard anything brand new worth listening to in a while. Other bands that I listen to that have rose to prominence in the last decade or so include Dream Theater (did have a one hit wonder in '92, "Pull Me Under"), Opeth, Circus Maximus, Symphony X and Dry Kill Logic.

I've never heard of the last couple of groups, I'll have to give them a listen.

Circus Maximus and Symphony X are more "power metal" oriented so it may not be your cup of tea. You might like Dry Kill Logic, a personal favourite is "Paper Tiger."

These bands are still releasing new material. Circus Maximus has only been around for just over 10 years. I only just discovered them around 2009. Dragonforce is another modern band that is similar but I even find them to be too over the top. They sometimes sound like old video game music.

More well known older "power metal" bands that are similar include Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force, Cacophony, Planet X etc.

Also check out Seventh Wonder. They're pretty new as well and are in the same vein as the other bands I mentioned.

I haven't heard this one in awhile. Metallica also covers this on Garage Inc.

If I remember correctly you liked Pink Floyd. I saw these guys a couple of years ago, they did The Wall in its entirety. It's the closest thing to the classic line-up reuniting (which obviously will never happen.) Enjoy!

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with their reputation - I've got tickets to see the British Pink Floyd tribute this summer. Really can't wait, I know it's not the real thing but they're very accomplished nonetheless. We were going to go see the Aussie Pink Floyd as they're in the UK at the moment but they were sold out at all the venues within reach

Just found out my mum bought me Radiohead tickets for my birthday, to see them in London. This is the most excited I've ever been for a concert. Incredible. Going to take my cousin as well, as he's promised to buy us a few rounds at the bar

My brother and his friend are seeing them in Boston. I sort of wish I could go since I'm also a fan of Radiohead.

As you can tell by my avatar and some of my video posts, I've rediscovered my Bruce Springsteen bootleg collection recently. It really doesn't get any better than this man live. Especially between 1975-1985, here are some legendary shows:

Incredible sound! These are the last shows by anyone at the legendary Winterland Theater in San Francisco!

This concert is over four hours long and sees Bruce play into the new year of 1981!

The concert that made Bruce famous, broadcast live on WNEW in New York from the Bottom Line Club in New York City in 1975.

Near the end of a two week stand at the Medowlands on the Born In The USA tour.

Regarding Bob Dylan, he's pretty good too.
