i didn't read the whole article but i would assume because we were young so we think things would have happened a certain way when in reality they may not have happened at all.

there was a tornado warning out and we were all rushed to the bathroom for like 15 or so minutes; it was really close to hitting my school (an actual tornado). scared the shit out of me.

No, I think schools here give a lot less time off in summer than the US, but for whatever reason, camps aren't popular here
