2011 as quite good for me.
I had a pretty awesome summer with my friend, finally finished school in june, got a job and advanced on my creative writing project
so yeah, 2011 was pretty good, honestly it'll be hard for 2012 to top it.

2011 was meh; nothing really happened much except alot of closings. There was stuff like the occupy movement and the rebellion, IMO that was the best shit of 2011.

2011 has been a huge year for me. First off, I moved away from home and out on my own. And overall it's going great. Making good money at work, paying all my bills on time, have a very nice car to drive (2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT), finally have an amazing long-term relationship that's going great, and I'm finally happy in life.
Though last month, I started smoking meth and got addicted very quickly. I had a terrible trip in my head the last time I used, so now I've been four weeks clean exactly tomorrow. Still fight the cravings every day, but my girlfriend helps me stay clean. Knowing that if I do it one more time, she'll leave me, helps keep me on track.
However, meth doesn't make my 2011 a bad year. I don't necessarily regret using or getting addicted, it's just another challenge for me to beat, and another experience added to my life. 2011 has been an amazing year for me, great year.

Pretty uneventful. My best friend moved to South Africa, and that made me really sad, but I talk with him on Skype, so I can still communicate with him. Other than that, nothing much.

2011 went by like a bullet, and can only be evaluated by me in two sections. The first section (January through April) was hell. I had previously been apart of the "jock/self-proclaimed-badasss" group, where I actually learned a few things about harassment, avoiding it, and being able to support myself in a place where bullying is a prime issue. Into the transition to junior high, my group separated into two different groups, and the half I went with was extremely unstable after the addition of new people. I decided it wasn't the best place for me, so I left. They didn't let me go easily, and the remainder of that section was filled with fights, arguments, rumors, etc. I was right, though, in that the group was insecure, as that group disbanded. With that group of people, I'd been a real dick to my other friends and had kinda isolated myself to just those people. Sorta like a drug; I knew it was bad for me, several people told me to stop, yet it was addicting and made me feel good. So, the rest of that year (April to June) was spent with me recovering relationships with everyone else.
Summer was also spent rebuilding and rebuilding. As of September, I have no enemies and life is awesome. There are some weird things, awkward things, but for the most part, they're nothing so big that they'll affect me.
2011 was the year I joined nohomers and became a moderator so in that sense it was fantastic.
Ignoring that though it wasn't really that great honestly...

I just realized something...
Where's the poll, surely with Rate & Review threads comes a poll we can vote on...

Mixed bag of a year solely due to one event that basically ruined my entire year.
It was going pretty good until then. Did great at my tech internship, earned a letter of recommendation and a nice chunk of money for all the ("unpaid") computer work I did, graduated w/ honors. Fiancé's parents visited Hawaii for the first time which was cool, but it meant I didn't get to go to Tennessee this year to visit them and other friends I've made while there. First time since 2008 I haven't visited TN. But his parents had fun down here so that sort of makes up for it. Got to eat at a lot of awesome places, got a cute pipe and smoked some awesome weed w/ fiancé, had a sick grad party, and hung out with my girl-friend from school a ton. Had to get glasses but it's not really a bad thing. Just something I need to get used to. Closer to owning a car and apt. now, too. Oh and we also got a new, even bed that doesn't dip in the middle or poke us in the back with springs.
I think everything was going great until my landlady told us to get rid of our cats. We rescued strays and cared for them. I had 6 cats total, but 3 cats in particular for 5 years now. I raised them since they were birthed from their mother. And now the landlady's son + his family have moved back in with her and while the son loves the cats, the wife and kids claim allergies and other shit and bitch daily about them. So I had to take my cats to an animal sanctuary and just abandon them there. That's what it feels like to me. They're being taken care of but they're still skittish and unhappy.. It's a heartbreaking thing to have to do. It feels like they've died. I didn't get to visit them like I wanted this week but maybe next week. We took 4 cats and kept 2 because those two don't go anywhere near the landlady's home. Since then, I've had to rescue and care for 2 different kittens but I got them adopted out at the Humane Society before the landlady noticed. If we didn't have dogs in the house, we might've been able to keep our cats but eh...everything has already happened.
Yeah, that one even tipped the entire scale of happy for me. Sucks but I guess I'm getting through it.

highlights:
-turning 17, as well as the party my best friend threw me
-starting my senior year of high school (which, about a week or two in, i realized was going to be far better then junior year was)
-seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Yea, seeing a movie at the midnight premiere here was a highlight. Also my favorite movie-going experience, because of how the audience reacted to different parts.
-getting to walk with the girl i like for the Homecoming Court (the thing where they announce who is the homecoming king and queen for each grade).
-moving to the new apartment with my mom. I like it. Quite different then living at my old house, especially considering we lived there a long time, but I like the apartment.
-getting my first job. In fact, I have an orientation meeting with someone at the store tomorrow. It's a store, market, whatever. Still looking forward to actually getting a job.
overall, not the best year, but it was better than the last two.
I have a feeling that 2012 will be better.
-last semester of high school
-get to start college
-finally going to start driving (sucks being one of the only seniors at my school who can't drive)
I lost my first job, sat on my ass for awhile, acquried some excellent train models, and got to research 2 of my favorite Disney movies. May was a highlight due to the combination of positives it entailed. This year, however, wasn't as good as 2002.

This year went by so. Freaking. Quickly. But it was awesome. I broke out of my depressed funk in December 2010, and 2011 just went up from there. I performed improv comedy on stage for the first time (it was at my school, but still), I went on a student exchange trip to Québec and met some of the most amazing people of my life, I averaged 90% in my Grade 10 year, and I came back to NoHomers, which is just as good as I remember. Aside from some petty drama and how it went by so quickly, this year gets a solid 5/5.
Darren erg, I can't believe you 'liked' bladework's post you pessimistic bastard!![]()
nothing special but nothing bad
3/5

3/5. During the majority of the first half of the year, a lot of unpleasant things kept happening to me, both at home and school. However, during the second half of the year, as well as the end of the first half, things progressively got better until December became the best month I've had in a while. It wasn't great, but it certainly beat the hell that was 2010. Highlights included getting a foul ball at a D-Backs game despite being miles away from home plate, a great camping trip, and being able to hang out with my best friend a dozen times during the summer.
I'm eager to see if things will continue to improve in 2012, but January is the cruelest month to me so it's a bittersweet feeling knowing the year's over.

2/5 2011 sucked balls and it was gayer than chris crocker taking it in the butt from bruno taking it in the butt from liberace
OK?
Hmm.
2011 was for sure not 2010, which was surprisingly stressful. There were good things and bad things about this year... it was pretty even.
The biggest thing to happen to me was stepping back into dating after years of simply not trying. In the end, with all of the flirting and endless messages, I wound up on three dates this year, all firsts. The last girl really liked me and vice-versa, but she was dating another guy at the time and chose him instead. But honestly, it doesn't matter since the very fact that I put myself out there romantically is a huge step, and I look forward to continuing in 2012.
Also worth of mention was in late March, I flew to New York City and spent an entire week with other boarders such as Steve, Aoife, Mikel, Patrick, Jordan and even our supreme leader made a visit. That was pretty fucking awesome and the definite highlight. Also I visited New Orleans with my family in September, and loved it. Best food and atmosphere.
One that's both a lowlight and a highlight was that I worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain over the summer to allocate some money, which accomplished my long-lasting dream of working at a theme park. Unfortunately... it's a very poorly run one and I found myself increasingly frustrated over the incompetency of management. In the end, I would have rather talked to an irritated guest than speak to any of my superiors. It didn't sour my overall disposition: I loved interacting with guests, learning the in-n-outs of the park and such because I'm a total dork like that. I'm sure it would be much less bewildering at a company that doesn't seem like it's running on toothpicks.
I also got my first script supervising gig for a student film. It kinda sucked (they were technically filming a trailer, so continuity didn't matter nearly as much), but was great to get the experience.
That all aside... umm yeah. Pretty standard year, which again, seems odd stacked up against 2010, where a whole lotta wonderfully awesome and ton of abysmal shit happened.
Oh 2011, why couldn't you be more like 2010?
