although i don't really like what they did with the books, i highly doubt they'll do it with the dvds.

Wait a minute; the December release date has only happened like one time so why would it suddenly become the standard?

Well this is the second year after it first happened so there is more chance of it being released in December than say if it happened once a few years back, hopefully I'm wrong though...

What happens to all those fans who spent their money on the first four books but don't want to buy the episode guide Seasons 1 to 20 because they already have the first fourteen seasons on their shelves ? Well, they got ripped off !

I really hope Fox doesn't have the same idea behind the DVD's and Blu-rays... Fox is easily capable of releasing the first 17 or 18 seasons on DVD and then saying : "Oh wait, the shows finished. Lets give the fans what they deserve, a massive boxset of all 25 Seasons of the Simpsons for 400 $". Once Fox has said something like this, they don't have to worry about doing seperate box-sets for Seasons 19 to 25 ; they have a complete collection !

The fans who have spent all that money on Seasons 1 to 17 or 18 will have no choice. Either they stop collecting the DVD/Blu-rays and never have seasons 19 to 25 on their shelves or they purchase the 400 $ boxset of 25 Seasons.

My whole message is just an assumption and I really hope this doesn't happen...
19 to 25 only has one worthy season yet anyways, 20, and I already have the shitty one they released back in '09, so I could care less if they did that.

The 15th season boxset is the last one I really care for and then they can do what they want with their releases.

My thoughts exactly. Season 15 is the last one I'll get!

Uh, weren't we supposed to be getting the cover by now?

Fox doesn't technically have anything to do with the episode guides. Bongo Comics produces them.

I guess that means the release will be on a later date than last year.

As I've said many times Season 16 is better than 15 to me so I want them to get through at least that many but honestly every season should get a single release with all the extras they do currently and maybe more as far as I'm concerned. Still waiting on the Lisa deleted scene Jean mentioned so fondly from Treehouse of Horror XIX in the Season 20 re-release. Doesn't mean it'll happen of course...

That's not a reason for not buying the set, just skip over it (I'm guessing it's Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass and while it's bad, the other episodes make up for it...)

Assuming it is Hail Mary Pass I think that is the weakest of the season, but worse than Alligator or Greatest Story or several others? Not even close. But whatever episode it is it isn't as bad as several others, imo.

are you saying you're not going to buy s16 because of that one episode, or are you merely saying that it has your least favorite because of what raspberry said, about 16 being better than 15?

    The latter.

Scratch what I just said... I'll probably end up buying it as well... I said I was going to stop at S11, but I continued.

I once said the same thing, but the power held me down and made me keep buying them.

i agree. season 16 ranges from almost classic era quality to average season 9 or 10 episodes. i don't think there's a truly bad season 16 episode at all. even the worst episodes like all's fair in oven war, mobile homer, or on a clear day i can't see my sister are saved by dialogue, subplots, or funny moments here and there. a rarity for the jean era. i'd put this and 15 over 9, any other jean era season though...

Well I love Mobile Homer and your other two examples are solid for me too. If I had to pick the weakest episodes they'd be Hail Mary Pass, Pranksta Rap, and She Used to be My Girl. But I don't think any of them are really THAT bad so I agree with you. Season 16 is likely the 10th best in the show as far as I'm concerned, with 15 as the 11th.

Season 15, the best post-classic season to date. I cannot wait for this to be released. We need a DVD cover and fast

Yep Simple Simpson, the last episode directed by the great Jim Reardon. I really hope he's on the audio commentary but he wasn't for his Season 14 episodes so I doubt it.

  27. #177

I really doubt this is true, but Wikipedia says that the Season 15 boxset is supposed to come out on November 6th 2012.

Since it's got no source, it's most probably a lie.

It's probably that "rjs160" guy who put that as the release date.
