I stopped after season 10

I have seasons one to twelve at the moment, but I'll most probably end up buying them all. I agree that some of these seasons are bad, but I'm a completist and my OCD will hate gaps in the collection.

willing to purchase myself, 1 to 13. the rest as gifts.
(i own 1-14 and 20)
Season 9. I'm not made of money. But with Seasons 1-9 there are about 200 great episodes to choose from.

I only have season 6 in my collection. If I had the opportunity I would buy them all, but I don't see that often.

I'm not stopping until season 25 or whichever number the final season will be.
Back in 2002, I bought season 1 on DVD, and promised myself I'd get them all.
So the answer is: until the final season, and any subsequent movies. I'm buying them all.
Well if you kids have OCD, then you'll love my collection: seasons 3-9 plus 13. Used to have 1 and 2 but I sold them, and then a relative gave me 13 as a gift.
"There's a couple of things they don't teach you in Harvard Business School. One is how to cope with defeat; the other is how to handle a shotgun. I'm going to do both right now."
How...the fuck...could you sell...season 2?!
...and keep 13.

I wouldn't mind getting 2 back now because there are some good episodes, but I don't really associate season 1 with laughs, so I never planned to stick a season 1 disc in again. But ah well, I can still see some good season 2 episodes when they come up in syndication.
I never even bought season 1 until I saw it at a Gamestop (???) for thirteen bucks. Selling season 2 was a mistake though.

13 bucks!? What a ripoff, man! I got a backup copy of S1 at a pawn shop for $6...and that was five years ago.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
I bought Season 14 and I'm still not quite sure why. Most of the episodes are terrible and the commentaries were a waste of my time. I was originally going to buy all the seasons I remember watching on their original broadcasts, but now I have pretty much no inclination to buy Season 15, nor anything that comes after.

s14's decent imo
I will try to get all of the seasons, if only for the commentaries. I think the commentaries should get more interesting as the episodes get worse, or I will at least want to hear them more. I'm only through season 11 on the commentaries, but I can't wait until season 23 comes out and I get to hear them defend Moe Goes From Rags To Riches.
7. Moonshine River - B 2. Treehouse of Horror XXIII - B+ 8. Adventures in Baby Getting - B - 4. Gone Abie Gone - B 12. Penny-Wiseguys - C
10. A Tree Grows In Springfield - B- 6. The Day the Earth Stood Cool - B 1. To Cur, With Love - A- 9. Homer Goes To Prep School - B- 11. A Test Before Trying - C 5. The Changing of the Guardian - B 11. Love is a Many-Splintered Thing - C 3. Hardly Kirk-ing - B+
I hate to break it to you, but the commentaries for the last few releases have been awful. The writers will literally do anything - anything - to avoid talking about the episode. Mike Scully brings in Phil Rosenthal, creator of Everybody Loves Raymond, and they quiz his teenage son on Simpsons trivia. They bring in Stan Lee so he can talk about the history of Marvel comics. Matt Selman bugs Lauren MacMullan with stupid questions about the movie Up. And on the rare occasions when they do glance at the screen, they just laugh nervously at the failed jokes and horrible characterization and stupid plots, and Al Jean usually mumbles something like "Of course, in real life, this would make no sense." They're really ashamed of these episodes, and they know they're shit, but fat chance getting them to ever admit it.

Rags to Riches' guest will be Jeremy Irons reporting live from The Famous Peoples' Old Folks Home

I'll enjoy him talking about his mystical adventures in the recording booth voicing a rag.
I'll never stop getting them, though I wish they would add audio commentaries and the other requisite features in a remastered package for Season 20. I refuse to buy the original because it is a rip-off--$40 bucks for just the episodes and maybe one thrown-in bonus feature.
i've come to that sad realization too. even the commentaries suck now, and aren't gonna get better. 14 is the last one i'm getting.

@Edna I'm pretty sure they're going to re-release it a few years from now, with bonus features in tact
Maybe the coming 15th will be the last one.![]()
Hopefully.
