Got it as a gift last Christmas, watched through it once...except Lisa the Drama Queen.

honestly don't get all the hate for that episode. i mean it's far from a great episode but i thought it was at least watchable
i get the hate. i'd have to say Lisa the Drama Queen is the worst episode i've ever seen.

it's probably in my bottom rankings of the 20th season, but on the whole i just find it extremely average.

Who wants Lolcats to recreate the awful Season 15-Present episodes?
nah

Oh yeah.
I think this year's thoh is definitely superior to Lisa the Drama Queen. The Rags episode I didn't find as horrible as most either, but it was certainly closer in quality. I just find Drama Queen intolerably boring for the most part, definitely the worst of Season 20.

The only interesting bit about Lisa the drama Queen is its the only 4 act SD episode made.
i would go as far as 12 but for the right price 13-15
I'll get them all. And I'd replace my DVD's with Bluerays in a complete collection as well.

i'm not a fan in the eyes on financial panther.
oh well

I thought season 9 was going to be my last, then I ended up purchasing season 13 on a whim. It was cheap, I remembered some good episodes from that season, and it was good timing with the S13 Hurt & Heal tournament here. Now I'm thinking I might eventually want to buy 14, 15, and *maybe* 16. Not sure about 10-12 - they each have a *few* episodes that are at least guilty pleasures, and they would fill a gap in my collection, but all in all they don't seem worth the money. And definitely nothing beyond 16.

I would personally stop at Season 15 as that was the time I started saving them onto VHS off of FOX broadcasts as well as, in my opinion that was when the series started to decline. WTTE over here seems to refuse airing anything before Season 16 and I am tired of seeing the episodes, if I watch them anymore I will start repeating the lines of dialogue in my sleep.
I miss the days when WTTE aired from Season 1 to 14. I remember that between January 2002 (when I moved to Ohio) to July 2003 they only aired seasons 6-11. One day I was pleasantly surprised when instead of a typical season 9 episode I was greeted with "Some Enchanted Evening" followed by "Bart the Genius" which I never saw before. I taped it, but have taped over it since sadly.

probably sometime in the fall
Is there a reason they went back to releasing only one box set a year? Is it because they don't have enough time to do commentaries (Since many people from then are still working on the show), or are they just selling less than they used to?

They want to keep the money train going for as long as possible.
If they released all the DVD sets twice as fast, the current season would be "less nostalgic" for those who want to own the physical media version by the time it was actually released.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
Mine was season 10. I'm really not a fan of that season, but still bought it the day it came out. Watched them all once, and haven't touched the set since.
I suppose I would buy seasons 11-12 if they were on a really good deal (around $10 a set). Beyond that I have zero interest in the series and would only take any of those sets if they were free.
"Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance."
-Winston Churchill
at the current moment ill stick with my final buy, which was the season 10 collectors edition.
my all time favorite episodes :
El viaje misterioso de nuestro Homero, the springfield files, the old man and the lisa, how they saved lisa's brain, realty bites, whacking day, Homer the Great, Mayored to the Mob, Hurricane Neddy, Monty Can't Buy Me Love, You Only Move Twice, King-Size Homer, Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming, Two Bad Neighbors, Homer the Smithers, Kidney Trouble.
the old treehouse of horror episodes.
currently got 2-11. I can't fathom the energy to get season 1, as much as it holds some good memories for me it's very meh for me, theres a lot of better television than season 1 of the simpsons and as for 12+, well theres better lolcats videos than that. Maybe I'll get 14 and 15 but my first priority is to get a cheap season 7 collectors edition, whenever I can be fucked.

that's the main reason i hadn't bought s14, because i didn't want just one season of the Simpsons, since it's been one of my favorite cartoons for so long.
i'm probably going to keep buying till at least s20/21. 15-16 i haven't seen for a while, 17-18 sucked but had some decent episodes, and 19 is one of my favorite post-classic seasons.

And regarding the thread-question, S15 will probably be the last one I buy.
