it's just one of those films where the more i see it, the less i like it. it doesn't seem as funny.

    also,

    Sequels are never really better
that's why I don't want a sequel. I mean, if I'm not a huge fan of the first, I'd probably like the second less.

first time i saw i loved it. but now i honestly don't know if it was the movie i loved or if it was the movie going experience, watching it with a bunch of fans.

but i got it on DVD for Christmas that same year and rewatched it a couple times and didn't find it as good. it's still at least a 3/5 or so though, so i don't like utterly despise it

There are occasions where sequels are better, Empire Strikes Back comes to mind, but that's off-topic.

Seeing The Simpsons Movie in the theater was still probably the most fun I've had at a movie; it was a wonderful experience. I still view it as at least 4/5 material, and would love a sequel, but had you asked me in 2007 I probably would've given it a 5/5. Though first as has been said they need a movie DVD re-release with all the material they've been holding out on.

The Star Wars movies were all simultaneously written and thought of. It doesn't really count. But yeah, off topic.

Had loads of fun at the movies, but it felt a little underwhelming. Now I can't go through the movie without being bored. If it gets re-released in theaters, hell yeah I'll go, but the Movie is largely untouched on DVD.

Wait, how does that not count? I mean I guess I see what you mean kinda but I dunno....I'd still count it. Even if they were written together it is still the superior film, imo. Do Aliens or Godfather II count? I mean those are more debatable but I've seen them claimed to be superior several times. How about Terminator II? Hell I consider The Rescuers Down Under, for as poor an example as it probably is, FAR superior to The Rescuers and they certainly weren't envisioned together. There has to be several others.

if they get oakley and weinstein back to give it a better storyline, more emotion and character stuff it will be better. they probably won't bring them back though and they's probably end up using new writers unfortunately

My final pieces of the kidrobot collection Kang And Kodos, but I'm not gonna pay $691,50 for it as they sell on Ebay

a new movie that isn't necessarily a sequel, just a second simpsons movie with more of a classic simpsons feel. before julie kavner dies and before bart's voice gets any worse.

I doubt that it would be a "sequel" per say, just another 80 minute Simpsons adventure.

That's what I'd be hoping for. Something completely different from the first movie plot wise. Maybe something Sideshow Bob related. As long as it has a classic Simpsons feel to it.

EDIT: Or something involving Hank Scorpio

I made a thread about it last year, but I STILL want a Treehouse of Horror movie, and a long one too, at least 90 minutes, preferably more like 2 hours and of the anthology variety ala Creepshow. Have the first 15 minutes or so be the kids on Halloween night, get them inside the Treehouse like the first one, and have at it. Only make sure Nelson, Milhouse, maybe Ralph or someone else is there too. Give maybe a 5 minute reaction in the Treehouse after every story, if done right I'd love it.

EDIT: Just looked through the old thread, the idea didn't seem too popular and I came off as kinda uptight but whatever

New writers...you mean instead of the current writers!? Wait, why are you worried!?
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

    Thumbs Up Support this idea!

I want Simpsons Lego, and it turns out there can be, if everyone on the board voted for it: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/12329 This would be awesome, I'd so build Springfield. Let's help the guy out and support the project, like and bookmark it!

Are cels from actual scenes in the show that common? I recently reread that John Ortved book and there's one person in there(can't remember who) who claimed that no matter how hard he tried he wasn't able to save any cels for himself, because Fox was always looking to cut costs by wiping and reusing animation cels. This process isn't that uncommon, most of the cels from the original Warner Bros. cartoons were wiped and reused as well, and very few cels of Bugs Bunny or Tweety Bird exist.

I know there are animation cels out there that were drawn up as promos, but I didn't think that ones from actual production of the show still existed.

I've seen them for sale so they definitely exist, and I mean along with those promotional ones you mentioned. I suppose they aren't as common as I made it sound though but if you've got $500 to spend finding one is easy, finding one from a specific episode on the other hand...

I'd love any script signed by Matt Groening, Al Jean, and the cast members! I'd die a happy man!

Simpsons World Book, definately. I'd also want figurines and posters to brighten up my room. Unfortunately, I can't find ANY of those merchandise near where I live, and how much I want...It gets a little pricey.
Last summer I revisited the tightly-packed, but hearty streets of Taipei. I'm a foreigner in Taipei and I was hesitant to go, but it's full of uniqueness upon arrival. Every street corner, shop-filled of savory summer treats. The urban zone; some parts tattered but still colorful. We hiked the rolling mountains and hills, experiencing the humid, tropical air of Asia-- stretches of tiny shrines are seen across the terracing hills. Waves after waves of hikers rested on wooden benches and portable tables, sat and enjoyed socializing with dry pumpkin seeds and small cups of herbal tea. It was so different, but yet the people are so full of connections to my home in Canada and Denmark.

This is my admiration-- Enjoy new horizons. Explore.

The merchandise looks like Simpsons game models.
