Can I get some love for Zombieland?
decent movie but it gets kinda boring near the end imo
You have to admit that the whole Bill Murray segment was hilarious!
I'm going to go old school on you all and say that a couple of my favorite classic movies are Citizen Kane, Metropolis, and The Great Gatsby.
it was one of the better parts of the movie.
ugh, i hated the great gatsby. it bored the hell out of me for some reason
Zombieland is average for me.
The Horse's Mouth (neame)
American Graffiti (lucas)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (spielberg)
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (spielberg)
The Empire Strikes Back (kershner)
The Insider (mann)
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (alfredson)
Definitely, Maybe (brooks)
Die Hard (mctiernan)
if you want me, honey, baby, I'll be here
My top ten are pretty much all classics (in chronological order):
Rear Window (1954, Hitchcock)
Psycho (1960, Hitchcock)
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968, Kubrick)
Jaws (1975, Spielberg)
Apocalypse Now (1979, Coppola)
The Shining (1980, Kubrick)
Raging Bull (1980, Scorsese)
Back To The Future (1985, Zemeckis)
Goodfellas (1990, Scorsese)
Pulp Fiction (1994, Tarantino)
and for you comedy lovers:
Dr. Strangelove (1964, Kubrick)
The Odd Couple (1968, Saks)
National Lampoon's Animal House (1978, Landis)
The Blues Brothers (1980, Landis)
Airplane! (1980, Abrahams, D.Zucker, J Zucker)
Caddyshack (1980, Ramis)
Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982, Heckerling)
This Is Spinal Tap (1984, Reiner)
Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987, Hughes)
Groundhog Day (1993, Ramis)
Note: It was very hard to pick just 1 John Hughes film in the comedy genre. Despite not making films for a very long time he was a tragic loss to the industry.

^^Those are all amazing choices. I have all those comedy selections on DVD or VHS except for the Odd Couple. All you're missing is a classic Mel Brooks movie like Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles.
Yeah, I haven't gotten around to Mel Brooks' stuff yet. You'll probably have to go to Amazon to get the Odd Couple as it is hard to find(I lucked out and got it at Best Buy.) Thanks!
If you liked Airplane!, you'll love Blazing Saddles. Just a note, don't watch it on TV (They censor it to death), buy the DVD

Thompsons, AMAZING picks! I love all of your comedy choices except for a few, mainly because I haven't seen them. Fast Times and Animal House have so many memorable quotes and scenes (PHOEBE CATES!).
We should post pictures and have the others rate both broads!
i watched Airplane! for the first time in a few years yesterday. one of the funniest films i've seen. i liked it more than i did originally.
That's probably because you're a few years wiser and get the jokes!
Forrest Gump is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. Such creativity with the amount of historical events tying together in the movie tied in with the Forrest/Jenny storyline, beautiful.
whatever it was, there were a lot of parts which made me laugh hard. far too many to even count.
forrest gump is pretty great too. i bought it on DVD a while back, but I think i lost it somewhere. shame. wish it was on netflix, i'd probably watch it

Isn't De Niro a whackjob in that movie? I've only heard a little bit about the movie but I did hear that it was one of the best movies in history...would you agree?
