    Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph"

This could be good. Rich Moore is directing, and Lasseter's stated they're trying to go the Roger Rabbit route, with "many videogame characters you know and love, from past to present." More info:

    Sounds very promising.

"The movie is directed by Rich Moore, a stalwart director for both The Simpsons and Futurama. He directed such all-time classic episodes as "Marge vs. the Monorail", "Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie", "Flaming Moe's", "Cape Feare", "Hell Is Other Robots", and the greatest Futurama of them all, "Roswell That Ends Well." "

Holy shit, I'm there day one.

On the one hand, it's Rich Moore, who's a fucking genius. On the other, as they touch upon in the article, this is the third animated movie in two years about a bad guy who wants to be a hero, after Despicable Me and Megamind. (Hell, there's a line in that preview footage that's almost identical to Despicable Me's tagline.) It could go either way at this point.

I'm actually looking forward to it, not thrilled it's a 3D movie but the casting and plot sound great.

Sounds like a lot of fun, although I almost wish Pixar was doing it. The gamer in me is pumped.

I wonder if Qwerasdf just watches the first four minutes of movies and then leaves the theater, satisfied that he saw everything he wanted to.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

It definitely looks and feels like a Pixar movie which is wierd because it's not, but it's still Disney and it looks really good nonetheless.

Just saw it, it looks really good; geeks of all ages will go head over heels to see this movie and it contains some really competent visuals but the entire movie feels like an enhanced version of Team Fortress 2 and the plot isn't grabbing me. I guess there are some good jokes and visuals but what it really needs is a soul, which many Disney movies are lacking nowadays.

Looks okay, but I was genuinely surprised at the Pac-Man, Sonic, and Q-Bert references.

I'd like to bump this because we have a ton of new info and it looks amazing...

Alan Tudyk (ABC’s “Suburgatory,” “Dodgeball”) as King Candy, ruler of Sugar Rush, a candy-coated cart racing game
Ed O’Neill (ABC’s “Modern Family”) as Mr. Litwak, owner of Litwak’s Family Fun Center & Arcade
Mindy Kaling (“The Mindy Project,” “The Office”) as Taffyta Muttonfudge, an accomplished racer and Vanellope’s nemesis
Adam Carolla (“The Adam Carolla Show”) as Wynchel, Sugar Rush security
Horatio Sanz (“Saturday Night Live”) as Duncan, Sugar Rush security
Dennis Haysbert (CBS’s “The Unit,” “24”) as General from the first-person shooter game, Hero’s Duty
Edie McClurg (“Ferris Bueller's Day Off,” TV’s “The Life & Times of Tim,” “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”) – as Mary, a Nicelander who lives within the game Fix-It Felix, Jr.
Roger Craig Smith (Captain Marvel from TV’s “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” Ezio from game franchise “Assassin’s Creed”) as Sonic the Hedgehog
Gerald C Rivers (video game "Street Fighter" series) as M. Bison
Rachael Harris (“The Hangover,” TV’s “New Girl”) as Deanna, a Nicelander who lives within the game Fix-It Felix, Jr.
Stefanie Scott (Disney Channel’s “A.N.T. Farm”) as Moppet Girl, a young arcade enthusiast who visits Litwak’s arcade
Reuben Langdon (multiple “Street Fighter” video games) as Ken from Street Fighter

That release date's for the US only though ain't it? I'm pretty sure the UK get it in either January or February.

I'm not too bothered about the wait though, it'll pay off. Loving the Bob's Burgers Avatar by the way.

You mean the one in the Candy Land-esque place? Yeah, she grated on me too.

If they don't make M. Bison say either 'Of Course!' or 'YES, YES' in this movie, I am going to be sourly disappointed.

Other than that, I eagerly await this movie.

    Wreck It Ralph

    BORR-RING!!!

What a disappointment...I didn't care for Ralph and the rest of the characters are unlikable: Calhoun (Jane Lynch) is waaay too much like her Sue Sylvester character, and even though I know she's supposed to be obnoxious, Vanellope Von Sweetz (Sarah Silverman) ranks up with Boo from 'Monsters Inc' as being one of the WORST Disney characters of all time.

Don't waste your $ unless you have under 10-yr-olds who INSIST that they want to see the film.

Wow, I completely disagree with D DEBBS' post.

I thought the movie was amazing.

It really feels like this movie was made for me, hitting all the right emotional chords and delivering some big laughs in the process. Not only was it packed full of visual gags from start to finish, but the premise and world(s) they've crafted (with its own set of rules) is incredibly unique and interesting to see. It's a bit like Toy Story in that it's sort of a "behind-the-scenes" view of fictional characters that humans are unaware of, but its executed in a compelling, unpredictable way. The storytelling is very strong--basically everything that happens has some sort of payoff or callback later in the film, and characters are all well-defined and hilarious. It even hits on an emotional level at several points.

And of course, the video game cameos are great fun. But more than that, the way the movie uses gaming to further its story and set its rules. There's lots of talk about game overs and glitches and being unplugged and the success of one's game in the arcade, but it's more than just winks and nods--it has a relevant place in the storyline that makes the whole thing seem very clever.

Everything just clicked--the strong writing, the funny and likable characters, the carefully constructed plot threads that all converge at the end--it's just really well done. And I loved the cast! Ralph was a fun, oafish guy to root for, the chipper Felix was unexpectedly hilarious, King Candy's Ed Wynn/Mad Hatter routine was great silly fun, Sgt. Calhoun was an awesome satire on so many gaming protagonists these days (and just about every line of hers was amusingly over-the-top), and Vanellope is one of the most unexpectedly lovable movie brats since...well, Boo.

Great movie, even better than I expected, and it really came together nicely. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun in the theater.

    GO SEE IT.

    YES, YOU.

    5/5 A

Really? That little girl voiced by Silverman is good? Looks incredibly annoying.
