the elimination of the archives & forum contraction

hello everyone,

glad to be posting here on a forum that once again loads fairly quickly. we're still working on improving the load times.

anyway, in preparation for significant changes to this website, the off topic & simpsons archives will soon be eliminated from the NHC. all threads since 2001 will be merged into the OT forum & simpsons "general discussion" forum and will become active topics.

this means that many media discussion subjects from years past will be located in the general OT forum, but if they're bumped the moderators here will simply move them to the appropriate forum.

also, since it's how they'll be viewed in the near future, the "off topic", "news & politics", and semi-private "frat house" forums will all be merged into one OT forum that can only be viewed by registered members. the sports & A/V forums will remain separate, of course. it's better that way.

these changes will all take place within the next 24 hours.

Eric, if someone bumps, say an old Kubrick thread, can I merge it with the more current Kubrick threads (assuming there are some)?
