Gaga sort of looks like Maude Flanders with blonde hair in that promo card

Being a ghost would explain her powers.

Nah...Maude's eyes and nose are shaped different. I agree with Dark Homer's comment about her being a younger Ms. Glick.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
pretty sure mozy was joking
The image is neutral. Plotwise, it doesn't suggest anything good or bad whatsoever, we already knew Lady Gagag was in it. But, and this is not really a rule, sometimes they put more effort in designs, animation and direction when the script of the episode is sort of good. But yeah, it's not an indication of anything. I just said I like the image. We'll see what happens with the episode.
I especially wanted to remark that I found Gaga's caricature cute. I was expecting something closer to Declan Desmond in a wig.
I mean, compare that promo to this one. The guest star character looks much uglier and less Simpson-esque, and the composition and coloring are much more dull.

Thanks.
This episode looks a bit weird, but I don't think it's gonna be the worst episode ever (like The Greatest Story)

My review:
I'm shocked at how well this episode plays out. Surprisingly emotional, Lisa's plight with her unpopular circle of friends is well developed, and her conflicts between Homer and Janie created needed tension between the constant layering of deeply satirical humor and Homer's clever antics and....LOL, who am I kidding!?
With Lady Gaga appearing with different outfits and hairstyles in these promos, I expect her to have so many lines and scenes that it will make the episode look like a vanity project for the musician.

Humm...I don't like the other pictures as much as the first one.
It doesn't look like worst episode ever material, but it looks pretty mediocre at best.
Actually it kinda looks like a remake of Bart's part in Stark Raving Dad but changing Bart for Lisa and "the guy who thinks he's Michael Jackson" for Lady Gaga.
You know the old saying "Don't knock it until you try it"? I'm going to go with this approach until I'm proven wrong. Who knows, it could be a diamond in the rough!
nah

YES.
THIS IS GOING TO SUCK SO GOOD!
If I didn't know the plot synopsis, judging by these promos I would say that Lisa had bumped her head and was then seeing imaginary Lady Gaga everywhere she went (akin to The Spy Who Learned Me).

The whole "Gaga recieves a psychic message" is getting a lot of bad reactions.
Imagine an episode synopsis which contained the sentence "Nelson astral projects himself to mock Bart". And that was a classic scene from a classic episode. Or "Leonard Nimy teleports after talking with Barney".
You folks are awfully quick to judge new episodes to be shit.

Those two jokes were just two quick gags in a time when it wasn't godawful to have guest stars on the show. If Nemoy and Nelson's gags were mentioned in an upcoming episode, we'd be dreading the results because the jokes would be delivered by S23's writing staff. And if somehow Gaga existed back in the early 90's and was going to be a guest, most people wouldn't be dreading her appearing...maybe a little puzzled, but not expecting a clusterfuck.
Again, the notion "because something happened in the classic era that was surreal, we can't say surreal gags are unjustified today."
Fuck that.
I could devise a whole bunch of such plot premises.
Like this one: "Bart is having trouble with the bullies until a psychic force tells Chuck Norris that Bart needs his help".
Or this one: "Marge is having trouble baking a pie until a psychic force tells Gordon Ramsay that Marge needs his help".
The psychic message could go either way. If it's played as some sort of self-parody to portray Gaga as wacky and eccentric it could work.
To me the weird thing is that the psychic message tells her that she must help Lisa. I suposse psychic forces don't know Lisa by name and what happens is that she detects there's a girl with social problems somewhere, as if she were some kind of superheroine for problematic girls.
Thing is the episode seems to be a lot about Lisa and Gaga together and that's what worries me, not the excuse for them to be together, but the fact that the guest star is going to be in most of the episode and interacting with Lisa, who doesn't seem to be a character that would find Gaga interesting to begin with.
