If that is a direct parody like le Jake thinks, that would probably be an excellent episode! I accept your challenge Bleedin Gums! I would love to watch this season non-stop. I've been a fan of this season and like the majority of these episodes. If I could, I absolutely would sit down and watch the first fourteen episodes back to back. Also, I hope Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart has equal billing for bart's story and Apu's. It has been too long since we had a nice Apu story. We had a nice one with Moe Letter Blues, but that was with Homer and Lovejoy as well. I hope he gets more screen time and that the story works. Very exciting to see Disco Stu in the 500th and can't wait to see the rest. Does any one know if they are having 21 or 22 episodes this season?

The original plot synopsis can be found on Wikipedia.
Sounds like that Episode when they show Bart when he was little when he was living in a flat with the family and when Lisa was born.
    Done before !

Now that is a Challenge !

when i first heard "a tree grows in springfield" i was all ready to make a sarcastic post, but upon hearing what the title is a parody of, and the episode itself might be a parody, i'm looking forward.

    From Fox Flash:
    --“THE SIMPSONS”—(8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) CC-HDTV 720p-Dolby Digital 5.1

AUTOMATED ROBOTS TAKE OVER THE SPRINGFIELD WORKFORCE

    ON AN ALL-NEW “THE SIMPSONS”

    SUNDAY, MARCH 18, ON FOX

Brent Spiner (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”) Makes Guest Voice Appearance

Mr. Burns replaces all of Springfield Power Plant’s employees with robots (guest voice Brent Spiner) but decides to keep Homer as the sole human worker. With unemployment at an all-time high and mechanical arms operating the workplace, Springfield becomes a dismal and humorless place. But when Homer’s machine-programmed peers start to turn on the community and his former real-life employees come to the rescue, they all realize that robots can’t replace human friends in the all-new “Them, Robot” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, March 18 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (SI-2310) (TV-PG D, L, S, V)

As I mentioned when I first heard about it the premise still reminds me of that one joke from LETS and for all I know that one joke/moment might be better than all of this, but this has been one of the episodes I've looked forward to the most this season. Also surprised we'll be getting new episodes three weeks in a row this late in the season, except for May of course...

So basically this is a generic sitcom plot about how robots start off useful then they cause chaos with a sprinkle of (robots can't replace humans) in there. Unless they manage to include some really good jokes/social commentary and not have Homer just do awkward unfunny stuff around the robots then this will turn out really, really bad.

I believe the rest of the schedule will look like this:

    Mar. 25th (rerun)
    April 1st (rerun)
April 8th (rerun due to the Easter holiday)
    April 15th (new episode)
April 22nd (no new episodes or a rerun episode since the 25th anniversary special has recently been rescheduled for this date and the lenght is reduced from 3 to 2 hours)
    April 29th (new episode)
    May 6th (new episode)
    May 13th (new episode)
May 20th (new episode, season finale)

I have noticed that so far every episode this season has a guest star except "Holidays of Future Passed" (I'm counting Teddy Roosevelt's archival speech as a guest star since it was hyped up)

This sounds like the prediction Frink made in Itchy and Scratchyland where he calculates the robots will turn on humans.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

I was referring more to the premise sounding like the Scully era reborn. If it ends up giving Scully vibes, then yes, but I have a feeling we're just going to get a bland, humorless sci-fi story.

Yeah, otherwise the only way I could get my Scully fix would be his twitter.

    @scullymike

I'm not Mike Scully by the way.
