Wow, that's the guy who wrote "Holidays of Future Passed". It looks like he's reached his creative peak.

    1) Writing one bad scene doesn't mean he's "reached his creative peak"
    2) There's a chance he didn't even write the scene due to the rewrite process

Yeah, I agree. I actually think the main plot is very interesting, and has a lot of chances to be funny.

I shouldn't be surprised but one 40 second clip that wasn't that bad = Worst Episode Ever! Huh?

I actually did find the clip pretty terrible, but I agree that people often dramatize the supposed poor quality of an upcoming episode. I'm sure the episode won't be as bad as one clip suggests.

In addition, the episode can hardly be worse than the preceding.

So.....that's the ending of the episode? What a bad note to leave it on.

I may have been outspoken about the early part of this season exceeding expectations... but that sentiment does NOT extend towards the PABF production line of episodes.

The Man in the Blue Flannel Pants was a tedious illogical Mad Men parody with an underwhelming subplot that went nowhere. (My score = 2/5)

The Ten-Per-Cent Solution was an overindulgent Castellaneta/Lacusta-penned Krusty snorer with a middling guest performance from Joan Rivers (it's like nobody dares to edit these husband-and-wife episodes). (My score = 1/5)

Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson was outright offensive and just kept getting worse as it went on (Nugent was insufferable). (My score = 1/5)

And now we have gay twincest makeout sessions. Joy.

What will save the PABF production line? All of those solid episodes we enjoyed in the fall can't act as a lifeline here.

Just saw another very small bit from the episode, Nelson makes an Angry Birds game called Angry Nerds where he throws Martin into some other nerds, I think Database may have been one.

it's true, looks like that scene is the ending of the chapter. I even can imagine the screen with the " executive productor: al jean" and the "In the Hall of the Mountain King" playing in the background

It was at the gaming expo in the beginning but I forget what the specific joke was, and I saw the Nelson clip while watching the NFL game on Fox earlier, it was in a commercial for Animation Domination.

Okay, seriously that clip was pretty horrifically abysmal. Come on, the writing was pathetic, the jokes were absolutely not funny, it wasn't the worst clip ever, no way, but I defy you to find ANY clip from the first 8 seasons that is any worse than that. I still enjoy the show and have found many recent episodes to be very good indeed but this?! Come on, if this is the best clip they could have chose to promote this episode then count me out! It's absolutely baffling how dreadful it is! No, not the worse but seriously, it's such a shame that that huge staff of writers can't pull of something decent. There are writers on this forum that can write better scripts than these overpaid bunch of slackers who think they're so funny "ooh, reference, reference, let's be topical ooh, gay kiss, ooh incest kiss, ooh, yeah, yeah, ooh lets parody a popular film, eeny, meeny, miney, mo, ooh, social network, yeah, yeah, lets do that yeah" for God's sake FIRE this bunch of idiots!!!! Yes I know it's J Stewart Burns' episode so it might be good but I'm pretty sure everyone around that table has gotten a good go at giving it a rewrite! It makes me so frustrated!!

    Okay, rant over...

i honestly didn't think the clip was all that bad. boring and not funny, but that's like half the jokes in episodes nowadays.

are people really citing that this episode is absolutely, without a doubt, going to be awful because of one clip?

God that scene was just lazy.
"We need a punchline to end this scene on so why don't the twins make out for some reason".

    DERP

It would work better if they didn't resort to these types of jokes every single episode. what a sad show
