In celebration of THE SIMPSONS' historic 500th episode milestone, FOX invites fans of the iconic animated series to participate in THE SIMPSONS Ultimate Fan Marathon Challenge at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles. Beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 8, fans will come together to watch up to 500 continuous episodes of THE SIMPSONS in an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record of 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds for the longest continuous television viewing. The contest winner will take home a $10,500 prize and an array of THE SIMPSONS merchandise, including products exclusively designed to commemorate the 500th episode.

Fans interested in participating in the marathon event are encouraged to "like" THE SIMPSONS on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/thesimpsons or visit http://www.thesimpsons.com to receive news updates including the exact date and time for open registration.
Members of THE SIMPSONS will kick off the Ultimate Fan Marathon Challenge event at Hollywood & Highland on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Fans and spectators, meanwhile, will be able to watch the marathon and visit THE SIMPSONS fanfare area equipped with interactive elements and animation cells. Fans living outside Los Angeles can stay up-to-date with the marathon challenge by visiting THE SIMPSONS' official Facebook page for event updates, video and photos from the event.

THE SIMPSONS strides into its 500th episode, "At Long Last Leave," on Sunday, Feb. 19 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. In the episode, the Simpsons are evicted from Springfield and join an off-the-grid community outside of town. But when Homer (voice of Dan Castellaneta) and Marge (voice of Julie Kavner) try to sneak back into Springfield, they are welcomed with hostility from their former friends and neighbors and begin to appreciate their new and more accepting home.

Yeah, but it's unless they do a main plot with her (which is unlikely) it's not going to be even worth it.

It's likely just going to be a 30 second cameo of her in heaven or a flashback scene before she left Homer. Both of which would be very underwhelming imo.

Hmmm... I'm starting to think (and hope) that 'How I Wet Your Mother' will be a flashback episode chronicling the beginnings of Abe and Mona Simpson. Basically 'The Way We Was' with Abe and Mona. It's certainly a possibility considering we don't yet have a synopsis. If this is the case it would make a great episode

Someone needs to update the upcoming episodes information at the top of this thread with the episode "Penny-Wiseguys" because that episode is listed in the US Copyright Database and is registered by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.

With "At Long Last Leave" airing as the 500th episode on February 19th, I am assuming the yet to be announced schedule before that date will be the following:

January 29th - Moe Goes From Rags to Riches
February 5th - NO NEW EPISODE TO AVOID COMPETITION WITH THE SUPER BOWL
February 12th - The Daughter Also Rises

And you can pencil in:
February 26th - no new episode to avoid competition with the Oscars
April 1 - pre-empted for Fox's 25th Anniversary celebratory show

We have a plot description for the episode "Moe Goes From Rags to Riches" airing January 29th and there is a subplot involving Bart and Milhouse the we hadn't known about until now.

"The Daughter Also Rises" will likely to be airing on February 12th by default especially since it is stated that the episode takes place on Valentines Day and it would be most appropriate to have it air as close to the actual holiday as possible.

After Moe is heckled for not having any real companions, Moe’s best friend and beloved bar rag (guest voice Jeremy Irons) narrates his incredible thousand-year journey to Springfield. Beginning in the Middle Ages, the bar rag was loomed into a beautiful and ornate medieval tapestry and traveled around the globe through the hands of royalty before finding himself found himself at Moe’s Tavern. Meanwhile, Bart begs Milhouse for forgiveness after the two friends get into a tiff, and when the bar rag goes missing, Moe realizes that he has more friends than he thought in the all-new “Moe Goes from Rags to Riches” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Jan. 29 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
