I was under the impression that the current VA's contract was for another 2 seasons. The negotiations that will take place more then likely latter this year will be for a possible 25 + season. Am I wrong on that?

don't think so, no. i'm pretty sure Fox would keep the show going even if the VAs demand a million or more.

I was under the impression that 515 episodes of the show had been ordered. After that if more were to be produced the voice actors would need new contracts. I must be wrong because it makes no sense but still...
Also, Family Guy may have done the tv pundit thing but you could argue the Simpsns has as well. Maybe not in a specifically political sense though.
Actually, thefutoncritic has 515 episodes as well, just checked.

i wanna see bob and bart make amends. he's been trying to kill him (and at times, his family) for 22 seasons. how about one of them tries to make amends with the other or something

yea, but i'm talking about an actual amends, where sideshow bob appears one last time, and at the end, amends are made and bob doesn't return to try and kill bart or anyone. it was close to happening with brother from another series, but bob has since still tried to kill bart. i'm talking about him stopping forever, and him finally stop hating on bart once and for all
why, though?

i dunno, i just think it might be a good plot
just curious-- how would you feel about the dog and the cat getting married?

Here you go:
FRANCESCA PULLS UP TO THE CURB IN FRONT OF THE SIMPSONS HOME AS HOMER, MARGE AND LISA ARE GETTING OUT OF THE CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY. MARGE LOOKS OVER AND SEES BART STANDING BY THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND COMES RUNNING AND GIVES BART A HUG.
MARGE:
Oh, my god! Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! (see Sideshow Bob) You monster! How dare you take my son and...and....(puzzled) return him to me?
BART:
Mom, it's alright! Me and Bob buried the hatchet...forever. 'sigh' It's finally over.
GINO: (leans out car window)
All better! All better!
BOB:
Mrs. Simpson, I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused your family these past few encounters. Now that I've have a son of my own and woman who loves me, I think the time for revenge--namely my egomania--needs to come to an end. Bart, to try and make it up to you and your family for all the times I've placed you in peril would be beyond impossible, so instead, I just wanted to leave you with a parting gift.
BOB OPENS THE TRUNK AND PULLS OUT A BOX LABELED "krusty's krap" AND SETS IT ON THE SIDEWALK AND OPENS IT. A LOOK OF SHEER JOY APPEARS ON BART'S FACE AS HE HOLDS UP THE AUTOGRAPHED COMICS AND KRUSTY TOYS.
BART:
Oh, my god....Bob, this is...is (begins to tear up) this is the greatest gift anyone's ever given me!
HOMER: (under his breath)
But I gave you life...
BART GIVES BOB A HUG AND BOB, SHOCKED AT FIRST, GIVES BART A HUG BACK. FRANCESCA HONKS THE HORN.
BOB:
Oh, coming, dear. One more moment. Bart, those were originally intended to be a present to my brother, but since he's an ungrateful SOB, I decided to give them to you. All I ask is if you sell them, make a killing on Ebay.
BART: (a bit teary eyed)
So, where are you going off to now?
BOB:
Italy, Franseca's family, unlike the American judical system, has forgiven my transgressions and I feel for the first time, I have a family that welcomes we with open arms.
BART PUTS HIS HEAD DOWN AND TAKES A DEEP BREATH.
BART:
Bob, despite what we've been through, you're the coolest adult I've ever had the pleasure of being scared to death of.
BOB KNEES DOWN AND IS EYE TO EYE WITH BART.
BOB:
Thanks, and you're the boy with the childhood I wish I could've had growing up. (stands up) Bart, I've got to go.
BOB TURNS TO LEAVE AS THE SIMPSON FAMILY WAVES GOODBYE. BOB GETS IN THE CAR.
BART: (looks down at the box)
'sigh' Bye, Bob.
BOB AND FAMILY DRIVE OFF DOWN THE STREET AS BART AND THE FAMILY HEAD FOR THE FRONT DOOR.
CUT TO BART AS HE WATCHES THE TAIL LIGHTS OF BOB'S SEDAN FADE AS THE CAR DRIVES OFF AND HE PULLS OUT A KRUSTY THE KLOWN DOLL WITH A PULL-STRING VOICE BOX AND PULLS IT
KRUSTY DOLL:
"Hey kids! Sideshow Bob is now vaccinated against Polio!"
BART LAUGHS AS HE CARRIES THE BOX INSIDE AND THE FAMILY FOLLOWS.
FADE OUT...
THE END.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
wow
that was like a television with words

Just thinking about Sideshow Bob episodes make me think of how great it would've been if the show ended with the season 9 holdovers. Brother from Another Series would've been the last Sideshow Bob episode how great would that have been?

sorry my idea seems 'lame' (or at least i'm assuming that's what people are getting at, i.e. the joke post about the cat and dog)![]()
Didn't know where else to post this. This seems like a joke taken out of context to me. So the past times the writers told us of celebrities turning down spots were lies? That's almost as bad as that DVD commentary where Groening "debunks" the rumour that Elizabeth Taylor walked out on the recording, when he was the one who spread the story in the first place.Originally Posted by http://blogs.laweekly.com/stylecouncil/2011/05/best_panel_discussion_ever_an_evening_of_beer_and_doh-nuts_with_the_simpsons_writers.php
Yeah, but you also like vaseline on toast.

hmmmmmm toasttttt arhhhhhh

If the show doesn't end with season 23, it'll go to 25. If it goes to 25, it'll go to 30 because season 29 will be when the show beats the episode count of Gunsmoke (635). Season 30 will be the victory lap. Look for the show to end in May 2019 with about 660 episodes.
