Thanks again Mr. Homer for these precious informations.
I guess the season premiere will begin with the end of The Nedliest Catch.
Thanks again Mr. Homer for these precious informations.
I guess the season premiere will begin with the end of The Nedliest Catch.
Thanks for the info! Was hoping the premiere involved Ned but oh well, I guess they'll just give Nedna results. In before Avatar parody bashing...except to point out Al Jean himself said he didn't like recent parodying things LIKE AVATAR in the audio commentary for Half-Decent Proposal....
Anyway that Homer spider bite segment reminds me of one I read in one of the ToH comics a while back. Definitely sounds the most interesting of the 3 segments to me.
Is the spider one a parady?
I suppose it could be, but aside from Spiderman I don't know of what...
Bart is a tentacled alien in the Avatar parody?
This segment could be titled something like A-Bart-ar
Surely this week we will get the first promos of the Season.
Sorry for my English
Season 24: Moonshine River: 2.5/5 | Treehouse of Horror XXIII: 4/5 | Adventures In Baby-Getting: 4/5 | Gone Abie Gone: 4.5/5 | Penny-Wiseguys: 3/5 |
A Tree Grows in Springfield: 4/5 | The Day The Earth Stood Cool: 5/5 | To Cur, With Love: 5/5 | Homer Goes to Prep School: 2/5 |
A Test Before Tryng: 5/5 Best of the Season by Now
Oh ok thanks.

didn't they say they would reveal the results sometime during the premiere?
anyways, those all sound at least somewhat decent, i think. when i saw "In before Avatar bashing" in Oh, that's Raspberry's! post, i thought they were parodying it in an actual canon episode, but to know it's a THOH, it actually sounds good imo. all the ideas sound at least half good, to me at least.
I only wish they'd take it easier on the tv show/movies parodies outside the horror genre in ToH. It isn't even like they've used every horror thing imaginable but oh well. I definitely predict Kang/Kodos will appear in the Bart segment though.
Also, if you do the math the show, even if not renewed, should still have around 8 holdovers if it is a 22 episode season. Anyone think one of these might be Treehouse of Horror XXIII?

i kinda just stopped caring whether or not they actually parodied horror films/tv shows. i guess it would be nice if they did so, but i really just don't care anymore. usually i love the THOHs but the most recent like 2 or 3 were really boring. i'm just excited that the three this year sound good
Sounds like Bart's avatar will visit Rigel 7 and some kind of Spider-man/ Charlotte's Web mix-up. Or maybe the spiderbite segment will be a parody of 'Autopsy Room Four' and Homer will communicate trough his boner
Bart helps Chalmers get his job back?![]()

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

Goddamnit, Eric! Bring back the fucking "THUMBS DOWN!" option!
Weird Al already did a better job parodying this freak show than Al Jean could ever do. Like I said million times before--if pop culture had a dick, Zombie Simpsons's writers would be sucking it.
JEAN:
Yes! Yes! Oh, gawd, Ga Ga, yes, oh Mike this sure beats working 20 hours days and being satirical! Oh, yes I can feel it in the back of my throat! Two years of non-relevance never tasted so goooood. 'gulp' 'gulp' 'gulp'
RIESS:
So, uh...do you need a napkin?

The idea of her being on bothers me, but considering I haven't heard any of her music in what seems like years and never paid her any real attention to begin with I'm not sure why. I should be indifferent until the episode comes out, but if she is a major part of it I can't help but think it is going to be bad, really bad.

I guess it's a new fake ?

It's not my fault the show nowadays puts out souless, passionless work and as much as I hate to say this--Scully's worst episodes were at least produced with some fucked up love compared to the last 4 seasons the Jean tenure. A string of dick jokes would be funnier than the flaccid shit the writers are pumping out (no, I don't meant the Smithers / Dick Cheny kind) and to the people who think the past 4 seasons 'are good enough', I say: 'when did banality and mediocrity suddenly become good enough?'. And some people like to think:
"But-But Jake...the Simpsons is like eating your favorite food over and over and y-you're just getting tired of it!"
Fuck that. This isn't the same "food" I've been eating, it's a cheap substitute we're dared not to like out of some fear of being labeled a CBG.

If you're under the delusion the show is still written 'above' that type of humor, of course you won't find what I said "funny."
EDIT: Stop your internal dialog, Jetty Boy...I'm not saying Dick jokes are God's gift to comedy, I'm saying the Simpsons writing sucks so bad now, it makes Dick Jokes look funny. Okay? Cool? Understand? Good, cool! So, stop the internal dialog about the grandeur and majesty of how the Simpsons is still somehow above 'crude' humor, 'k?

According to this article, the Lady Gaga episode is titled "Lisa Goes Gaga" and will air in the Spring.

oh that's a relief. i thought you were saying that dick jokes were the pinnacle of comedy writing, even greater than the seemingly insurmountable comedy prowess of jean-era simpsons.
glad we got that sorted out

To Jake, the Simpsons is no longer the "same food"; it's more like a shitty dick. He still keeps putting it in his mouth, though.
