I liked that second preview. Otto sitting next to Bart on the bus got a chuckle out of me.
Favourite/least favourite by seasons that I own (somewhat stolen from Financial Panther):

    3 - Dog of Death/When Flanders Failed 4 - Lisa's First Word/So it's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show 5 - Secrets of a Successful Marriage/Bart's Inner Child 6 - And Maggie Makes Three/Another Simpsons Clip Show 7 - Marge Be Not Proud/Bart the Fink 8 - Homer's Phobia/The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase 9 - King of the Hill/Trash of the Titans 10 - Wild Barts Can't Be Broken/Maximum Homerdrive

1st clip: the lyrics aren't good or funny or even subtle; seems to be designed to get Bart to do something, at least the singer manages to save it.
2nd clip: overindulgent, but I guess they can't do a gag like that without relying on some sort of flashiness...

Can't really gather much about the episode from the clips but I'm guessing the episode is going to go 50/50, leaning towards the other due to some stuff that worries me though...

Liked that the dog chasing Bart in the second clip was the one from Lastest Gun in the West, but the clip probably wasn't the best way to show he's bored with his life. It'll do though, it'll do...

    Wow, a good montage

  5. #2045

I know most people is extremely critic with everything at this point but , like some otheres have said, the two clips are looking pretty good and more creative than most of this season. If you are going to have filler/montages this is the way they should be done, with a different style and including as many sight gags as possible. Let's hope the whole episode delivers.

Since he seems to be promoting this episode even though he hasn't written it, and has possibly posted a deleted scene in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if Matt Selman executive produced "A Totally Fun Thing That Bart Will Never Do Again"
500 episodes, about 200 good ones.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
The episode "Whacking Day'' curiously aired the same day as Seinfeld's "The Contest'', which deals with a different kind of whacking.

I didn't watch the second preview because I don't want to have seen the entire episode before it air...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bottom 5 watched all come from Seasons 24 or 25 in a few years. Ratings are really not all that meaningful for this show's existence, at least not at this point.
    Still this...

If you're not popular, you don't try to win friends! You create a few slandering facebook pages with forged names of the girls you don't like in school! That's the American way!
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

Maybe Lisa should just contact Jill Hudson instead.

I'm kinda anticipating this episode. If it's as awful as it sounds well, it'll be kinda morbid to watch it. If it's good or decent it will be a big surprise.

My only hope is that I actually think Lady Gaga could be funny, I have watched a couple of interviews with her and she looks like someone who has a weird sense of humor. And it's obvious that she doesn't have sense of ridicule.

Maybe but Lady Gaga doesn't choose herself what she will do and say in the episode...

Most TV shows get lower and lower ratings and number of viewers at they progress through the years. It's not a big surprise.

My cat will probably cough up funnier things than this episode.

Wow. Lady GaGa would actually drop whatever she's been doing to help some 8-year-old she doesn't even know because a voice in her head told her to? How cute.

Actually, that "psychic force" excuse is good for pretty much any celebrity guest star appearance.

Some season 24 info came up, describing an upcoming episode written by Tim Long:

Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sarah Silverman join Zooey Deschanel on 'The Simpsons' -- EXCLUSIVE

By the way, it's about time the season 24 thread opens up.

That actually sounds interesting. I wonder why they can't bring Jessica back, too.

According to the article, the episode is titled "Moonshine River"

They were able to get the actresses who voiced Bart's more recent girlfriends but not able to get Sara (Laura Powers) Gilbert, Meryl (Jessica Lovejoy) Streep, or Reese (Greta Wolfcastle) Witherspoon?
