At Lease "Skinner and Bart become friends" did not have any guest stars in it to hype.

And it had the blackboard quote "I will not celebrate meaningless milestones."
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
Speaking of "Barting Over", the episode after that was "I'm Spelling As Fast As I Can". Apparently, it's the 301st episode, and they even had a ribbon. WRONG! It's actually the 303rd.

Not only that, "Barting Over" has the p-code of EABF05 and "I'm Spelling as Fast as I Can" has the p-code of EABF07. "Pray Anything" is EABF06 aired right before "Barting Over".
"Trash of the Titans" was indeed the 200th episode to air but the p-code of 5F09 actually makes it the 189th episode produced so it was like they selectively chose this episode to hype. "The Joy of Sect" and "All Singing, All Dancing aired earlier, but their p-codes are 5F23 and 5F24 respectively which makes them later episodes than "Trash of the Titans" production wise.
I'm counting the 9th seasons "Lisa's Sax" (3G02) and "Simpson Tide" (3G04) as episode produced earlier since the 8th seasons "The Springfield Files" (3G01) and "Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiali(annoued grunt)cious (3G03) were produced along with them.
The Simpsons opening intro to "At Long Last Leave" should say a ribbon of the following:
500th episode to air! 500th episode in production order!
There, are you happy we got it right both ways at the same time?

In other news, guess what. Apparently, "Barting" and "Fast" actually both have their ribbons in syndication. Like it's still a big deal. There, are you happy we got it right both ways at the same time for the second time?

I don't know... Maybe it's the hype talking but I feel disappointed; I'm not expecting anything big but I am expecting something with a bit more effort in it since it's going to be beating Gunsmoke and all... Four of the plots listed are good and I didn't mind that they weren't as big as I'd hope but affixing a "The entire town of Springfield is against them" thing and then affixing a "mad max plot" does give different expectations.

Trash of the Titans was preselected to be the 200th episode most likely because it was a 'Homer-centric power trip' episode, the same way they selected 100th because it was Bart-centric.
Titans was still the 200th aired, even if wasn't the 200th recorded (the production numbers usually refer to voice actor recording sessions).
According to the season 14 commentaries, Fox forced Barting Over down everyone's throats as the 300th episode, regardless of actual math, because of promotional and timing concerns, viewer intelligence being ignored.
Fortunately, this didn't happen with the 400th episode, and it happened to coincide with being the season finale, plus leading up to the movie release.
Does any one know if they are doing the semi-regular 22 episodes this season? Everywhere I've looked I have seen only 21 titles so are they doing a shorter season? I saw there was an episode called Penny Wise-Guys copyrighted a while ago but I haven't seen it on any list for season 23. I would think we would have known of the 22nd episode by now. Can any of you guys or gals shed some light on this for me? Thanks
PABF14 "Lisa Goes Gaga" is currently being planned as the season finale but there is still a possibility of there being 22 episodes this year. PABF15 or a later PABFxx episode could air before "Lisa Goes Gaga"
Penny Wise-Guys is listed in the US Copyright Database but the moderators still haven't put that title on the top page of the thread.
Thanks for the info Biff ! It will be cool another season of 22 episodes !
Thank you biff. I would like it if they had 22 but I think they will just have 21 this season. Oh well, I'm still as fan of this season and cannot wait for Exit Through The Kwik-E-Mart!

I believe it will air this year. Between March and December. But definitely this year.
If "Penny Wise-Guys" is Steve Carrell´s episode, I am pretty sure that is going to be Season 24 premier episode airing at September 23th/30th.
Sorry for my English
