The Italian Bob and Bart-Mangled Banner were terrible, but The Bob Next Door is a great episode.

it's true john frink is a unusual writer. He can make good chapters like "The Girl Who Slept Too Little" "Stealing First Base" "500 Keys" or crap like "All About Lisa" and "Bart-Mangled Banner" but this plot isn't good so i am still believe this won't be good. I hope be wrong

I don't view it as great or anything, but don't hate The Italian Bob. Bart Mangled Banner and Angry Dad: the Movie appear to be his two weakest solo episodes. Bye Bye Nerdie and Insane Clown Poppy aren't anything to brag about either though. Gotta agree with Panther on The Bob Next Door though, probably in my Season 21 top 3, certainly top 5. That wikipedia list left out The Great Louse Detective though, crediting The Bart Wants What It Wants two times instead for some reason.

^I think they mention something like that jokingly on the commentary for The Great Louse Detective. Interestingly, to me anyway, he wrote at least one episode that aired in every year since 2000 except for 06 and 07, I guess he was probably working on the movie huh?

John's record is inconsistent, on one hand; he's able to do competent episodes that I may like, on the other; fucking meidocre or even terrible episodes. "The Girl Who Slept Too Little" is good while "The Bob Next Door" just plain sucks from lack of cohesion. The fact that the plot reminds me of previous political episodes and the fact that these episodes don't tend to do well (combined with the writer's record) doesn't give me much hope for "Politically Inept". who's title is just very thin icing on the cake which itself is very thin.

Stealing first base is very bad but for me, 500 keys is my favourite episode of season 22.
So, politically inept, with Homer Simpson can suprise use.

I'm not a fan of John Frink.
I'm not a fan of Professor Frink.
I strongly suspect I won't be a fan of Politically Inept.
However, this season has been filled with plenty of instances of seasoned writers surpassing low expectations so I won't be overly surprised if this winds up watchable.
