Little things you notice on the millionth watch

I just started up Bart Gets an Elephant, in the part where everybody's a horrible slob. they get to breakfast-- waffles and eggs and sausage-or-something. Homer's doing that highly focused highly excited eating yet highly slovenly thing, taking zombie bites of one and then darting to the next. well I just lost it when I noticed that after every big bite of waffle as he lost interest and discovered his eggs he absentmindedly tossed them aside.

so, uh, share little bits like that that you love. often it's just the little mundane details whose logic, in light of the point of a scene, makes you spit your drink out.

    Bart's Inner Child

I don't think it's a coincidence that on these rewatches (I've probably seen 10 episodes since summer ended), I'm most surprised by the funniness in the first couple minutes.

todays noticing: when Homer's playing on the newly acquired trampoline, as Marge says "Are you sure it's safe?" I never noticed that Homer takes a big leap off the trampoline and casually lands on his feet to tell her, "Absolutely."

    ...good stuff....

    Lisa The Simpson:
Just after Homer, Bart, and Lisa finish watching TV, Homer asks Marge for some food (Stat!). Marge then pokes her head around the corner, and tells them that dinner will be ready in 40(?) seconds, while holding a spatula. After Lisa runs off in fear and the next act starts, the family are eating soup. I can't see why you would need a spatula for cooking soup lol... I just found that a bit funny/strange.

I guess the soup was just an appetizer. She was probably cooking something for a main dish.

I want you guys to watch the itchy and scratchy land episode and watch out for this joke.

Bart takes a picture of a robot and it collapses, he then says a cool line and- "with a dry, cool wit like that I could be an action hero."
2 or 3 minutes later homer says this after killing one of the robots and saying a line.
"with a dry, cool wit like that I could be an action hero." The thing is Bart cuts him off in the middle of it.

Maybe the funniest simpsons joke of all time

    "Are you being sarcastic, dude?"

    Cape Feare

When Homer reads the letter he thinks is addressed to him he shouts and everyone runs in even a tiny, blue mouse seen above ^ Thought that was pretty cool and I didn't even notice it until like my sixth viewing

in a milhouse divided we don't see what dignity looks like when luanne draws it during pictionary. when kirk rips the sheet of paper off the easel it's blank. it's a good joke rather than an animation error because we don't see it. it's to kinda mess with the viewer, aka the "unreveal." http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheUnreveal
