Yeah, I feel the first two episodes aren't very good and are the worst in the season.

I'd recommend checking out "Art Crawl" and "Spaghetti Western and Meatballs" to see how funny and character-driven (respectively) Bob's Burgers can be.

Same goes for any show. If you judge one solely upon its pilot, that's pretty much the worst rule of television viewing.

I actually really like the pilot (Human Flesh) I feel the only real BAD episode was Spaghetti Westerns and Meatballs , and it wasn't really terrible.

Really glad it's coming back. Pilot wasn't great but the rest of the season was really funny

The pilot was "Human Flesh" and it was bad, do not judge the series on that, in a way it was almost nothing more than "here, familiarize yourself with these new characters and their traits."

Just been rewatching Series 1. In the one where Tina shows an interest in Capoeira, I realise that they don't suddenly introduce a celebrity, or the leading capoeira instructor in the world. Which is, of course, the route that The Simpsons would take. This show is so brilliant.

Bart and Maggie, seeing what happened, commit suicide with a knife.

I think Burger Wars should have been the pilot.

This show has the potential to be on for a few more years, if not more. As I've said in other threads, I haven't laughed this much at a newer show in quite a long time. I hope this show doesn't get cancelled right away.

So what does everyone think of the animation? When I read about the format of the show, I expected some budget by the numbers style deal.
I'm still pleasantly surprised by how smooth and characterful the animation can be at times. Things like Jimmy Pesto jr. dancing alone are that much more effective because of the effort they put in.

It makes me wonder how Family Guy and the Simpsons get away with it.

Only three new epiosdes left this year... maybe ever... what a drag.

What happened to Fox airing some in the summer, I thought season two would at least be 13 episodes?

Support Bob... it's really on the bubble.

Let's give it some huge may sweeps ratings... and it will be back.

Dont worry Fox ordered 22 episodes in the 2nd production season so i guess the last 13 will air as a 3rd season

Yeah Fox were late in recommissioning it and initially only gave it 13 episodes, but then they extended that and added another 9 to make it a full season, but it's just airing in a slightly unusual way, but I'm pretty sure that means they like the show and want to stick with it for a while.

I'm trying to spread the word of Bob's Burgers to my friends. So many people were put off by the first episode that they haven't given it a second chance since then.

It certainly is one of those unfortunate shows.

Oddly enough I remember liking the first episode, I was just too lazy to go through the rest..

I remember being very uninterested in the show when I heard about it, but the first episode was bearable for me and when I seen "Crawl space" I was hooked.

    Just be thankful

I didn't like the pilot episode either. I'm just really lucky that I decided to give it another go!

Just watched the premiere for the first time in over a year. It actually holds up pretty well, I found it better than I did originally.

I wish they had kept up with the jokes with Gene and the megaphone and keyboard.

I doubt they could top Gene sampling his grandparents doing it amnd then presenting it to the class as a report.

Watched the pilot with my roommate yesterday. He considered it the worst of the series (since he loves the other episodes), and while I thought the plot was bland and the ending crap, I could watch Bob telling Gene he's not worthy of being molested over and over again.

Wikipedia put up a picture of the original designs of the characters.

I think I'm slightly creeped out. Also, notice that "Tina" was a boy back then.
