I loved this show as a child. I actually enjoy the classic episodes more when I got older! The newer stuff isn't near the quality of the old ones but they can still pull a rabbit out of the hat sometimes. However it lost it's charm and wit after the movie and the writing staff overhaul (but that was to be expected)

One of my favourite episode is when Spongebob and Patrick had an invisible spray can and haunted the town. Although I usually find the episodes featuring Squidward in them to be the best of the bunch (i.e: When he tries to get into Bob and Patrick's box, his day-off episode, the leaf blower short, the sea bear episode, the art class episode and that's only on the top of my head!)

I was actually thinking about the show earlier today at random intervals thanks to this thread. How 'bout Patrick the detective "almost tasting" Spongebob in the Clamu episode or...

"Day......OFF!!!!!!?? I don't know the meaning of them horrible words!"

I actually really like Squidward's character. I dunno, but if I lived next to Spongebob and Patrick i'd be pretty pissed off too.

And it feels like they purposely egg him on at times. Then act all oblivious when he tells them to stop and but they continue to do said annoying thing anyway.

I dunno. I just relate to him in some ways. I'm in no way self absorbed, but I do feel down on myself and envy others a lot. Everything in Spongebob's life is so easy, yet for Squidward he has to work for it.

It actually reminds me a lot of the relationship between Homer and Frank Grimes (Homer being Spongebob and Squidward being Grimey). Grimes could have handled it a better way but you don't really blame him for going crazy. Homer is just so oblivous to the whole thing, much like Spongebob to Squidward.

I think that there may be some underlying thing why this might be. But, of course, this is a kid's show, so.

Oh, and does anybody else think "Sing a Song of Patrick" is one of the better newer episodes? It's not classic good but it is pretty good.

And relating to that episode, this gif has been sittin' on my desktop for the last week:

Oh I'm definitely sure I'd act like Squidward if I lived next to people like them. "Is it time already to ruin my day?"

That Patrick song one just gave me a headache even if that was kinda the idea...

Oh god I love that episode.
Also dont forget one of Squidward's best episodes the one where that rich guy that looks like Squidward makes fun of Squid and Squidward is upset says that he has a 3 star restaurant then he has to make the Krusty Krab look like a rich restaurant. My fave quote of the whole episode "Empty your Mind" and then Spongebob goes nuts OMFG that was so hilarious really classic moment .A huge shame that Hillenburg and the Original Writers left the show it hasnt been as funny since then. The early seasons of Spongebob are probably some of the best cartoons ever. They're so unique.

Umm this is totally false.Spongebob works his ass off at the Krusty Krab while Squidward is a lazy ass and just sleeps on his Cashier Job.The reason Spongebob seems like he doesnt work hard its cuz he's a bubbly kind of person like a kid.
I do agree on the Annoying Part though I can relate to Squidward when kids outside make noise when you're just trying to relax.

Am I the only one who always wanted to go to Krusty Krab and eat a Krabby Patty? God whenever I saw them in an episode I would crave for one

Now, it's time for a confrontation with your boss.

Mr. Krabs, can I have a raise?

    No.

    Good job, Mr. Squarepants!

A good scene to be sure, but I actually like "And here comes the giant fist!" more, both times.

Also one of my favorite images from the show:

That Spongebob face is hilarious in context.
