    Yellow hair and DNA

Where are Bart, Lisa and Maggie supposed to have inherited their yellow hair from? Homer's hair is brown, so is Marge's hair supposed to be naturally yellow?

Marge is probably blond, they've said that she dyes her hair

At least it's not as much of an oddity as the wiggums, with blue hair+purple hair apparently spawning=blonde and later brown hair.

Yeah it's a cartoon etc etc, but in real life it's actually not unheard of for a child to have a quality that neither of the immediate parents have, especially hair color, or for it to skip generations and thinking about it...Abe had Blond hair in his youth I think. It depends on whether both parents have the recessive gene for blond hair passed down to them, even if they're say...black haired they could still have a black/blond gene, and if the kid by chance gets blond/blond then they'll be blond. Plus a lot of times a blond kid will have his or her hair gradually turn brown or dirty blond as they get older too and Homer's there. It's much more complicated than that but I won't turn this into biology class, of course they probably haven't thought that much into it.

Bart's a natural redhead, but bleached by the sun... which explains nothing!

Probably just me, but much of the time it doesn't even seem like the kids have hair.

I mean, you can seriously have a spiky bald yellow scalp right?

You could be right, if toys were a reliable source. Then again, toys make cars transform into robots.

If Marge and Homer both had recessive gene's it's possible!
Both my parents can roll their tongues (a heriditry thing), but neither me or my bro can! And no don't claim adoption

Abe was shown to be Blonde off & on, but even he was shown to Have Brown hair, as well.

& if you want to be biologically specific, it's not like they (the parents, most likely just Homer) wouldn't have the alleles, they just wouldn't be a dominant trait, obviously (but with the kids, yes).

What I especially don't understand is why the Simpsons kids have no hairlines while just about all the other characters do?

probably because the Simpson family was designed by Matt for the Ullman shorts while most other characters were designed after the actual show started

The Simpsons family had to be immediately distinguishable from other characters in a crowd and there's also the issue of their shadows being recognizable like the one from Mickey Mouse.

I can't believe you guys. This person has clearly discovered something here and none of you are taking it seriously.

We need to take this enquiry straight to the good and kind people of FOX.

Maybe it's because they're still young? (Despite futuristic episodes showing they still have blond hair) I've grown up w/ kids that had blond hair that didn't start darkening until they were almost 17.

Also, Marge is shown a few times as a child w/ the blue hair, so I'm assuming it's natural unless she's been dyeing it since she was 6 :/
