the movie ruled so much harder than the simpsons' movie.
will have to watch it again then. I don't remember a thing about it except them meeting their fathers in the desert.
Heckling a Puppet show.
i watched a handful of episodes a few weeks ago when they got put on netflix instant watch. definitely better without the music videos. i was laughing my ass off through the first few then found myself laughing less and less. i guess it's not so funny once you get used to them laughing retardedly after every line. the best one was where they aren't allowed to be disruptive in class and the teacher keeps saying penis and stuff and they're just dying from not being able to laugh, faces all sweaty and beat red. an enjoyable cartoon, my favorite frowned-upon show as a kid.
part of the charm of beavis and butt-head was the crappy hand drawn animation. if they remake it with better animation and digital inking that alone will make it less good.
The movie was pretty much just as good and funny as the show itself, except they were part of an epic adventure instead of the usual mundane stuff. I thought it worked really well as a movie and didn't feel like just a really long episode like The Simpsons movie, and to some extent, South Park: Bigger Longer, Uncut did.

yeah i only watched episodes 1-27 from vol. 1. maybe i'll pick it back up.
cool, the movie is streamable. going to do that up.
Hahaha I crack up at the vending machine episode every time. A fucking old lady gives Butt-Head a dollar and he says "I said I wanted sixty cents, butt-munch!"
The movie is awesome, much more than "a long episode" in my opinion. The plot isn't totally half-assed either. Solid film.
Hell yes for new episodes, I'll watch them without a doubt. There's been talk of Judge reviving the series for a few years. I remember him even mentioning wanting to make a live action movie based on it. Terrible, terrible idea, so I'm much happier that he's just going to do new episodes instead. New animated movie in the future perhaps? I'm game.
Great news, I hope he sticks to that. It would probably be the first entirely hand-drawn (or at least hand-drawn-looking) animated show on television in years.Originally Posted by article

i'd watch new beavis & butthead... but i kinda think they're so emblematic of the 90s that they should probably stay there. (same with the simpsons)
I'm up for new B & B-H...at least, it'll be way better than King of the Hill.
i think they were pretty emblematic of the 90s, too. but in all honesty, what the show was satirizing is even more prevalent today, i think. and for those who didn't watch this when it was originally airing, mtv NEVER showed the vast majority of those videos. so it wasn't realistic or whatever in the first place. and the shows without the video interludes just don't seem to work for me. the pacing seems off or something. plus they're more often than not hilarious
it needs the videos
agreed, + music videos need rifftrax style commentary now more than ever
The music videos always made me smirk. Plus they always were a nice break from the B&B adventures.
After watching the episodes without the videos on the DVD, it made me really miss them since some of their best jokes were during the videos.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage.

hahaha holy shit at the laurie anderson reference
if one forgets about the goode family mike judge is pretty much flawless
after creating beavis & butthead, KOTH, office space, and idiocracy, he could do romantic comedies and i still wouldn't hate him.
Extract was great, too. I know it didn't get the greatest reviews or rack up money in the box office, but neither did Office Space at first. I thought it was a fun movie, better than Idiocracy.
Revived shows like Futurama, Family Guy and Ren and Stimpy all were/have been received harshly, but it sounds like Judge really understands his roots, right down to ensuring the show doesn't become "well produced." Heck, if they could actually find the people to properly cel animate it, that would be great. That's unrealistic, though, with the reliability and speed of modern animation.

"There's a couple of things they don't teach you in Harvard Business School. One is how to cope with defeat; the other is how to handle a shotgun. I'm going to do both right now."
Yeah, I really respect the guy for sticking with the original animation style when he brings it back. I'll definately have to re-watch Do America soon
I re-watched last winter after not seeing it for about 8 years and it has held up surprisingly well. It's nothing spectacular, but still has a lot of funny parts.

I love the episode where they go on the nature thing with Van Driessan and go into the drum circle to talk about their feelings, and Beavis gets really into it
I love ugly art! I'll watch these new eps and hope for the best.
Lots of the time, it was the small things that made me laugh the hardest..
Example: Their both watching a music video that suddenly showed flamingo's for some reason,.. Butthead shakes his head in disgust and says to Beavus,... pfft, Penguins!
rally liked the show and the movie, have volume 1 on dvd and haven't watched it in years, but I would definitely watch new episodes

Backdoor Sluts 9 makes Crotch Capers 3 look like Naughty Nurses 2
Watching B&B is cathartic. Maybe for people who were there only, though. I don't know how kids today would react to B&B insulting Lady Gaga.
We'd fucking love it though.
You mean...our universe?
"I got one! Masturbation."
"Uhhh, that doesn't work."
"Yeah it does! I do it all the time!"
