NUDITY IS EVIL, BROS
IT'S IN GENESIS
I finally watched it. I enjoyed it for the most part, and thought it was the best Apple parody I've seen (not hard that though). A lot of funny parts, and most of it was hit rather than miss, until the dreaded Susan Boyle came into it. I'd already read the complaints about it so it didn't come as a shock, but unfortunately it was just as bad as I feared. Good to see Mom again, she was used quite well here and not too much as she can become a drag if she is. Some great animation in places, especially liked the old electrical trash ring orbiting the third world. Shame about the Susan Boyle thing, that really dragged this ep down. Overall though it's not as good as Rebirth, but better than Gadda...

I'm not really one for ragging on the latest pop culture trend on shows since they usually feel forced, crowd-pleasing and talk-show-host-monologue-esque, so that right off the bat was minus a point for me. But I wasn't gonna write off the episode based on its premise. There were some funny things in there, and actually some pleasantly surprising satire.
So far, the return's been pretty decent so far. Not amazing or anything, but I'm still enjoying it. 3/5
and what the fuck is the status on Fry and Leela exactly?
didn't enjoy this one too much honestly. i'm not a fan of episodes that heavily satirise modern technology. these are the kinds of episodes that will not hold up over time. i didn't even find it that funny today, i doubt i'll find it any funnier 5 years from now. and i just think it's kind of lazy that they've taken today's technology and pop culture and just modernised it. that's sort of been a cornerstone of the show throughout the series and not just in this episode, but it bothers me, as was overdone in this episode
as other people have said, the susan boil stuff was just.. abhorrent. and would've maybe been more relevant 12 months ago. way to go for an original target, futurama writers. a talking boil? seriously? wtf
but yeah this is easily the weakest of the new episodes thus far imo.
For sure the weakest out of the new episodes. While there were some good jokes and whatnot, it felt really flat and just stupid. The goat thing was just disgusting; except the part where Bender says "...and Indian food", then it goes back to its thing. Highly weird episode that did not really feel like Futurama. Overall I would give it a 3/5 for a 'C' rating.

Eh. We really don't need any more apple parodies (mapple), however, I liked the way this was done better than when simpsons did it. They took something out of our ordinary lives and changed the name slighty. While in this episode, futurama took that everyday item and actually changed and modified it (for the future, obviously.) in a way that came out as more intresting than mypods, myphones, and a braniac bar. Still, the goat vomit/dirreah thing , the sudden ending (too much like that of family guy) and the boil sucked, so a low 2/5.

I know this is off topic, but guyz, Patric Verrone is clearly a comic genius. Just look at this bestiality joke he worked into one of his Simpsons Comics scripts:

Even more clever than Susan Boil!

If I saw that joke in a newer episode I don't think it would surprise me.
Nah, they're All Ages books, the only ones that Bongo markets directly as kids' comics is the Bart Simpson series. Some of the other comics are very immature, but a lot of them have stuff that kids just wouldn't understand (one of the newest Simpsons issues has Homer lusting over a car that has breasts on the front of it, with Lisa saying "Mom, Dad wants to buy something based on sex". There's also a Futurama issue with Fry hooking up with a girl in a bar, and another where Leela intentionally seduces Zapp).

Just watched this so forgive me.
For me this was much better than the premiere double bill - the satire/parodies felt fresh and slightly inspiring, even if the subject had seemingly been done to death. Most of the jokes for me radiated from Mom and her minions - favourite line for me was: "i'm sorry, i guess i'm just abit nervous about my evil plan...you dumb bastards!"
The Susan Boyle thing was kind of cringe-worthy, but it didn't really bother me (the Simpsons kind of made me immune to that sort of thing).
All in all, a fun episode which bizarrely is open-ended - a blatant first for Futurama I think. 3/5
Just watched this episode.
And I think this sums up my thoughts quite well. While the two previous ones still had some quality in the writing, even feeling a little off in comparison with the best Futurama, this stands out for being pretty much like a sample of the problems of current Simpsons. I didn't enjoy the Eye-phone, Twitcher things. It's been so overused these days.
And then the dialogues. Not that the plot is actually so terrible, but they sound weirdly unnatural. In every one of Mom's lines, in most of those <insert hilarious reference about the present which somehow is there in the future because the writers firmly believe or want to make you believe that time is cyclical> moments (wow, that was long), but specially in the last part where Leela faces her "popularity", I honestly couldn't believe her appreciating Fry's help to confess her physical defect to the world. Something was missing there, definitely.
Susan Boil... heh. There's nothing to say. It could be much worse, but actually, and giving the fact that it's a terrible idea, it could be miles better. The way it was introduced felt abrupt, at least, and even a bit disgusting.
And the goat. I kind of justified it because it was not really badly-inserted in the episode, but... ugh. Just, ugh.
So what? The episode is entertaining. I enjoy the duel between Fry and Bender for the most views, and specially the second one is brilliant here. But on the other hand there are so many things I find it hard to get used to, that made the experience quite difficult.
5.5/10. Really disappointing, although not as bad as it could have been, I guess.
