I really thought that Zapp was being genuine, the way he seemed to be helping Leela. But he was a scumbag like always. I like the fact that he's a scumbag, though. His personality lends itself to some good comedy.

Sorry - I watch it twice and I didn't laugh once... and that's pretty bad.
The main plot was jusr so.. quick It trlly lackof any build-up or trully interesting twist. The Book of Genesis spoof could ben doen 100% much better.

Well, I didn't like the episode. First of all, the canon idea was off. Futurama, who insisted on putting all it's episodes; and the movies(2 of them were very bad) in abig canon. Well, that's my idea. Unless it is Zap's dream, I simply can't explain the characters in the same canon. Zap, who last episode wanted to kill all of them; now has Kiff as his assistant again. I think they need to explain what happened after the stem cells. And Amy, who was married to Kiff, now proposes an orgy. Fry wants to be a part of it, after just being in a relationship with Leela. Leela has sex with Zap not for saving earth, but because she was in a hurry.
Well, I think the worst part were the jokes. Futurama can make good adult jokes. But it has a way of doing them. There are many ways of telling adult humor in movies. One is like Futurama used to do. Another one is South Park, where adult humor is showed anywhere but still being funny. But if you don´t know how to make adult humor like south park does, you just get a bunch of random bad words and images that can make people horny, like some(not all, of course) series in adult swim in cartoon network. But then there is another way to use adult humor.It's when it's so bad, that you get a bunch of extremely unfunny bad words mixed together in something that is called idiots humor. For example, "date movie" or "disaster movie".
Futurama in this episode corresponds to the third and foruth cases. It had incredibly stupid jokes. V-giny for example; didn't make people laugh even for the stupid it was. Or the orgy idea, which corresponds to the third case. It doesn´t make you laugh, it just makes you kind of horny. And watching the end just proofs my point. All audiences approved! Is that even a joke or what the fuck it is?
To be true, I didn't like rebirth so much either. I kind of liked the movies, especially bender's big score. Nothing compared to the first series; which had a fast humor that they just couldn´´t recreate completely. I get that time changes things. But to get from that to that south park copy fail...just leaves me with one comment: Fox became a porn channel so gradually that I didn't realise it.

Futurama never used to be like this...finally catching up with the new episodes...hope the rest aren't similiar

Yes, The Late Philip J. Fry is a very good episode. I also think Fry Am the Egg Man and Overclockwise rank up with the best as well.
