isn't that a bit harsh, Betty? you really should watch what you say to other people.

I edited it.
I apologize if I insulted you, Wavy.
See, it's not hard to apologize and make people feel better instead of making them feel like crap.
I'm sorry too. no need to make you feel bad when I'm sure you don't actually hate Wavy.
I didn't, it was a joke.
I decided to edit it anyway in case he took it wrong.

The original post was as follows:
"Damn you, Wavy!"

He wanted to know the original post, I wasn't directing towards Wavy.
You've twisted me all up, Bubbles...
Alright, I have a real one this time!

Ned Flanders calls a visibly irritated Rev. Lovejoy about the Simpsons kids not being baptized, to which the Rev. sarcastically suggests that Ned consider a different religion. Bonus: Rev. Lovejoy is busy playing with his trains, and even orders a new set that Homer destroys by driving through it.
In Marge We Trust, S08E22
Rev. Lovejoy is completely burned out on preaching and advice because Ned won't stop calling over minor issues. He eventually goes on hiatus and does nothing but play with his trains.

Black Widower had this line from Sideshow Bob that was cut from syndication:
"Do you know what prison is like for a lifelong conservative republican?"
He later ran for Springfield mayor as a republican in Sideshow Bob Roberts
recurring plot element that's close enough to athrowaway moments that became episodes/major plot points
Whacking Day begins with Skinner tricking Bart and the hooligans into the basement-or-something while Chalmers visits to check on the school. (Then Bart semi-inadvertently ruins Skinner's plan and screws things up and the homeschooling plot begins.)

Homer Goes to College begins with Burns tricking Homer and the doofii into the basement-or-something while safety inspectors visits to check on the plant. (Then Homer inadvertently ruins Burns's plan and screws things up and his whole thing begins.)

I forget what the plot is exactly, but then How the Test Was Won is just a full-episode ripoff version (or Bart A/B/whatever-plot) of Bart and Hooligans being tricked onto a bus for the same reason and wanting to escape.
Saddlesore Galactica
It is shown that a rubber band hit Lenny in the eye, and he even has a patch taped over it.

Homer vs Dignity
Things hitting Lenny in the eye becomes a reccuring gag throughout the episode. Near the end, he is shown with a patch over it.
^ That's not a major plot point...
EDIT: sorry for the bump, I didn't realise how long ago that post was made :/
The Canine Mutiny had a climatic scene where Laddie discovers that the blind man has Marijauna that is medicinal to keep him from going blinder.
Weekend at Burnsie is all about Homer being prescribed medical marijauna to treat his case of glaucoma.

that's a good one
Did you notice in one episode bender makes a cameo appearance saying "Your my new best friend!!" and then hugs homer but he throws bender out of the car and then he gets run over by a hover craft? In that scene the buildings stay the same when they are moving across the street. The same thing happens again when, i cant remember the episode, but when the car drives away and homer tries to keep up with it the buildings don't change, they stay the same.
