    THOH Ideas

Simailar to the 'final THOH' thread, but this is for normal THOH episode ideas.

Links to THOH fanscripts also welcome.

Just let them go back to classic horror-ideas.
    No transformers-stuff anymore, please.

The only thing terrifying about Transformers was the budget. I don't get how it fits THoH.

For film spoofs, I'd like to see a Paranormal Activity one. That film sucked compared to what others were telling me (scariest film ever my arse) so I'd love to see some jokes about that.

I suppose a spoof of some classic horror movie that they haven't already done would suffice, in the same vein as the Shinning and Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace.

    Possible choices?

    The Exorcist
    Halloween
    Rosemary's Baby
    The Thing
    Carrie
    The Birds
    The Omen
    House of Wax

I think Bart is well suited for a parody of The Omen.

No more Flanders sticking out of Megatrons butt.

And why do they make a Mad Men-spoof during a THOH?

Stuff like this is ruining the THOH-concept.

    Nauru-1's suggestions: all great !

I don't remember the segment and I've never seen Mad Men, but that picture of Homer falling is probably a reference to Vertigo

also why is this thread in GD? new ideas for episodes etc usually go in I&S Studios, right?

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

There's a fanscript I did lurking about somewhere that parodies Final Destination, Silence of the Lambs and Bedazzled (the original version). I'm surprised that haven't done a Final Destination parody yet.

Bart and Maggie, seeing what happened, commit suicide with a knife.

Me too! I love the Final Destination films, and I'm really surprised The Simpsons hasn't even managed to make ONE reference to it.

The Great Louse Detective is a spoof of The Silence of The Lambs since it involves using one criminal to catch another.

But I agree, a spoof of that in a Treehouse of Horror episode would be great.

I doubt it could be counted as a spoof. Were there actual SotL-references?

How about a twist on the THoH theme--do three 30 minute episodes that are "What ifs?" and are based on the premise of things turning out differently at certain key points in the show's history. Here are some ideas:

    1. "Krusty Stays Busted"
--Bart fails to prove Krusty innocent and Krusty winds up doing jailtime, but manages to break out of prision and wants revenge on Sideshow Bob for framing him and Bart for not helping him get out of jailtime. Meanwhile, Bob's popularity is skyrocketing and the public doesn't want Krusty to come back.

    2. "Homer on the Lam"
--After drinking too much, Homer wakes up in bed with Mindy Simmons at the Power Convention and Marge learns of this and throws Homer out for good. Meanwhile, Mindy's distressed that she broke up Homer and Marge, but also tries to take Homer in and start a real relationship.

    3. "Grimey's Enemy"
--When Frank Grimes humiliates himself after the "Design a Plant" contest at the plant, Homer manages to tackle Grimey before he grabs the power lines and Grimes is demoted to Homer's assistant. Now faced with a humilating job, or no job at all, Grimey is not only forced to do work at the plant, but Homer stupidly makes Grimes do things like wash his car, pick up dog poop, ect. Filled with murderous rage, Grimes decides to take Mr. Burns hostage and make the town realize how unsafe they are with Homer at the switch.

Sweet, but does that really fall under the THOH category?

Didn't they already do a exorcist parody? It was definitely not a full segment, but for some reason I remember Homer being on a bed and then climbing to the ceiling with his head turned around. So I guess they could make it a full segment but I, personally, would rather them just do something else.

But all your other choices were good.

To be honest I don't actually remember that happening. Wouldn't surprise me if there have been some Exorcist references before, but then again they referenced the Shining and Citizen Kane in other episodes despite a parodying segment and episode, respectively.

I know Futurama did it first, but with the Simpons being somewhat grounded in reality, I chose some of the more down to earth plot twists that could lead to deeper outcomes vs. just a bunch of wacky nothing.

    Cancel the Twilight parody

    But in all seriousness:

Itchy and Scratchy and Bart (from my old fanguides):
The Itchy and Scratchy show may in fact be a bad influence on Bart when Bart starts mimicking Itchy’s methods of killing Scratchy. He starts killing residents of Springfield. Can the family find a way from keeping Bart from watching Itchy and Scratchy forever? If not, they might be next...
You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

    Everything happens for a reason.

Just be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Don't worry about the world ending today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
