"cartoon wars" was pretty great, though.

As much as it sounds like the content could actually support a two-parter (as opposed to Peruvian flute bands), I can't see them carrying a 200th episode "celebration" into 201.
"There's a couple of things they don't teach you in Harvard Business School. One is how to cope with defeat; the other is how to handle a shotgun. I'm going to do both right now."
If Mel Gibson comes back, I'll be thrilled
not a shock: next week's episode will be "201"
looks like mephisto is returning, and the cartman's father plot put totally upfront. the preview clip offers zero new insight, except some sickening syntax: the narrator calls it "the next chapter"...so, yeah, this might be it for the rest of the run.Episode 1406 Announcement
This Week on South Park:
Angry celebrities, violent ginger kids and Mecha Streisand are about to destroy South Park and all anyone wants to know is, "Who is Eric Cartman's father?"
unless, of course, M&T get super nostalgic and end up running "not without my anus" instead of a new episode. which would be hysterical and perfect. I'd have so much fucking respect for them if they did that.
Wow, is this gonna be Mephisto's first speaking part on the show since... season 4? Or 3? I don't even remember the last time he was on the show.
(Is Cartman's father the little monkey guy that follows Mephisto around?)
Hey wait a minute, where was Maury Povich in this episode? Maybe Cartman will go on Maury and get a paternity test.

Signature.
Was Kyle's Dad one of the guys in the room? That'd be an interesting twist if Cartman had been related to Kyle all along
by: Dehumanizer , IM A BRICK
I brought up the old ep to take another look at all the people in the room:
Chef
Mr. Broflovski
Officer Barbrady
That Indian chief guy
The football team
Ned
Mr. Garrison
Mr. Hat
Jimbo
Mrs. Cartman
Mephesto
Mephesto's Monkey Friend
Kyle
Stan
Cartman
The kids have time-travelled before, right? What if Cartman was his own father...somehow?

I think this whole thing will either be 3 episodes (finishing off the rest of this run), or this next episode will be a Queef Sisters special.

Mitch Conner is Cartman's father. He died and got reincarnated as his own son's hand.
Oh god I just realized something. "201" = Season 2, Episode 1.
Remember that little incident.......

From the Comedy Central Press Release:

Isn't that basically the same as the special olympics one?
looks like more of a "camp" episode, and not about steroids.
I have a feeling that this ep is just for matt and trey to relax and have fun with after such a tumultuous last two weeks. usually timmy and jimmy episodes are sort of anti-episodes (i.e. lack having a point, python-esque craziness)...so, I'm ready to just sit back and laugh.
Exactly, I agree with you ironman. Doesn't sound like 'Up The Down Steroid' episode at all really.
I'm looking forward to this episode, sounds interesting and has potential to be a great episode chalked full of good jokes. Plus, Matt and Trey basically already mentioned that this week's episode would be totally non-related to the previous two and that it would be a "relaxing" type episode.
I'm willing to believe that we won't even see Stan, Cartman, Kyle or Kenny once.
anything jimmy related is good in my book
We got no food, we got no jobs, our PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!
We haven't had a Jimmy/Timmy episode since Up the Down Steroid, and before that Krazy Kripples - both fantastic episodes. I'm excited for this!
We did have Erection Day in season 9 and Fishsticks (sort of) in season 13, although neither of those involved Timmy.
Fishsticks was pretty good, but Erection Day was awful. Hopefully, this'll be good, I do think Jimmy is a good character.
Thus concludes my absolute favorite half-season run of episodes since season 8. I'm very impressed since I was honestly ready for the show to end by the end of season 13. This is a huge improvement. Tonight's episode was so back-to-basics greatness. This could have aired in seasons 5-8 if I didn't know any better (and if Intervention existed then).
Well, let's recap on this half-season then.
