I've been wanting to watch I&S The Movie for a couple days, so that's my impulse answer. The strength of Homer's conviction for the boy is just beautiful in its feeling.

But more deliberation will probably lead me to choose I&S&M, which is one of the greatest Simpson episodes, and uses the cartoon really well.

I really am not a fan of any of them, sorry, lol

"The Day the Violence Died" is a masterpiece about copyrights and animation-history.
And it contains one of the most disturbing endings in the history of the show.

erm...because I don't like it, and like you said because it's disturbing. It just doesn't feel right to me, after all the plot progession in the episode - everything for Bart and Lisa just turned out to be a waste of time. Also it was quite shocking (in a bad way) on my first watch, because I honestly did not see that coming.

But I know some people like it because it breaks the traditional mould of a plot and makes a joke directed at the audience.

It is a spoof on the actual copyright-idea the show was playing with.
Also notice the parallel between the ending-scene with Lester and the same scene with Bart in "Two Bad Neighbours", earlier in the same season.
