people gotta lay off Obama, he's doing the best he can, especially after the total mess that Bush left behind
Tapped Out Origin ID: jbartle25, feel free to add me
No kidding. I mean, just because he doesn't turn everything completely around in his first year, apparently people decide to vote the Republicans back into power, when they're the ones who got us into this mess in the first...
Wait...
I wish I'd been keeping up with "American Dad" premieres like I'd been meaning to these past few months, 'cause I tuned into "The Return of the Bling" without knowing who the hell Reggie was or why he was there. I suspect if I'd seen his debut appearance, I would have appreciated the subplot more. (Regardless, Hayley with her top off will no doubt stir up some interesting fan art.)

Say what are your favourite American dad episode?
Stan of Arabia was pretty much the moment were I realise the moment the show potential for deeper political thought than what it looked at first
Four Little Words- probably one of my favorite time were Stan being ruthless to a level I didn't thought possible previously (I had to wait for Teletoon to show American Dad on a regular basis to realise just how much Bullock Story is weirdly consistant and came to a great ending which involve his wife in Fallujah,
Tearjerkers- A rather neat concept
Rapture's Delight- Mainly because of how awesome it is
(honorable mention
A.T. the Abusive Terrestrial, but the B story with Stan and Francine suck, we hardly ever drink Mr. Pibb in Quebec and thus making it rather lame
The third act of Dope & Faith- a great ruthless Stan and the resolution was rather neat too bad we don't see any continuation of it
Escape from Pearl Bailey a consistantly entertaining episode
"The One That Got Away" is a great episode, and one of the first I saw when I began getting back into the show not too long ago. It's a good one to show to someone who thinks "American Dad" is just a "Family Guy" rip-off, because it's about as far away from the FG writing style as possible. ("Roger 'N Me" would be another good example of that.)
I'm still working my way through the show on DVD, but a few of my other favorites so far include:
- "Stannie Get Your Gun". Just like "Let's Go To the Hop" was the definitive Peter/Meg episode, this is the definitive Stan/Hayley episode. Both their conflicting personalities are on display, clashing with one another in hilarious ways. It makes for an excellent gun control satire that paints neither side of the issue as right or wrong, but lampoons them equally. Great Roger and Steve subplot, too.
- "A Smith in the Hand". Following in the "Seinfeld" tradition of devoting an entire episode to the subject without ever saying the word, this one gets all its laughs from what it suggests, not what it depicts. Also features my all-time favorite Klaus line ("Do you think she'd let me swim in her mouth?").
- "With Friends Like Steve's". The jokes come fast and strong in this one, but they're also wrapped around a clever little mystery. "American Dad" is great at opening on a seemingly innocuous set piece, then calling back to it for the climax, and this episode has that in spades.
- "It's Good to Be the Queen". There's so much great character-driven stuff here, as we learn just what lengths Stan will go to in order to prove himself right. It also pulls off a nice sweet ending without feeling too sappy. The Roger/Steve and Hayley/Klaus subplots are great experiments in teaming up unlikely characters, and they both hit every mark.

*So very ashamed it took me so long to notice*
I can't say I didn't consider your episode for my list
A Smith in the Hand had a very good first and second act, but the third act resolution seem that it could have take place in another episode all together
I'm waitting to see if the The One That Got Away still as good the second time around, but the whole parralel life angle defitively make me intrigue, but kinda wish it had a more long-term impact
With Friends Like Steve a very good one too but more B+ than anything great
However I must say there it present of amusing case in dubing
Red Dawn being a rather obscure movie in Quebec (it might suprise you but it doesn't really have a lot of Broad appeal to the international community) they kept the title in its original english titlewhile the title actually had been translate during its original release
However the name "Wolvereine" stayed in english in the French dub of Red Dawn, but the dub of American dad translated it to its french form (let me tell you two guys yelling Carcajou sound far less awesome than Wolvereine)

Bump due to end of Hiatus
Tonight episode was pretty good Roger Elbow kick was pretty damn amazing
Say is that me or the corrupt cop the same as the Jewish cop who beat up Roger Neo-Nazi coworker from way back when Roger took a job at a car dealer (though I don't think they use the same name)
I must say I'm suprise no one come out as really being a jerk in that episode, while Stan as a moral character is usual its not impossible however him going agaist abuse of power that's a little out of character
still the Haley/reginald subplot was involving but not exactly funny
I was suprised that they continued the Hayley/Reggie sub-plot from "The Return of the bling" in "Cops and Roger"....I wonder if we'll see more of Hayley and Reggie in "Merlot of down dirty shame"?
Just be thankful
3.5/5 stars. The idea of Hayley having an interest with some talking animal looks so wrong and very Family Guy-esque.
Nevertheless, I'm glad to see American Dad back and the main Roger-Stan plot was very good and had its share of very funny jokes. Roger is still the most entertaining Seth character.

3,5/5 on tonight episode, Rogers a bit too much of a jerk, it was nice to see Claus doing something for once even thought its was a bit role, the writting was a bit sloppy but a lot of good joke
4/5
Now this is what American Dad is all about. Characterizations were spot-on, the humor worked, the sub-plot was actually very interesting (as someone who lucid-dreamed a couple of times), and it had shockingly dark humor that somehow made me laugh.
Yeah it was a good episode, they managed to involve all the characters and it worked out very well. I'm really not convinced by this hayley and reggie story either. I like the idea of them trying an extended subplot in theory, but I'm not convinced that reggie is a very good character. I don't even mind so much that family guy has covered it, because they can go in a slightly different direction with things, but eh it's just a bit worrying and a waste of hayley.

3,5-4 out 5, Contos bullying Stan was pretty damn great sheer creativity, overall a very amusing episode, although they didn't need roger
Wonder if we'll see Reginald next week
Not that Koala again ...It doesn't help that the main plot is a letdown compared to the previous two episodes.
I agree that the reappearance of Contos was a great idea.
