actual episodes you originally dismissed as fake before you got an actual listing

We have known that sometimes tv.com and wikipedia and maybe some other sources have given episode titles and descriptions that turned out to be fake.

My question is the reverse of that.

What actual episode titles or descriptions did you originally dismiss as "being fake" until an event such as Fox releasing a press release?

I originally thought the description we got for the episode that turned out to be for Midnight Rx was phony because high prescription drug costs and smuggling from Canada seemed all too familiar to me plus the episode sounded too serious.

Also, the description we had for the episode that turned out to be Goo Goo Gai Pan originally sounded too outrageous to me plus I could never understand why Selma would want to adopt due to the events in Selma's Choice.

Prison Fake {Prison Break styled episode, which is apparently I Don't Wanna Know Why the Caged Bird Sings}. But I thought this title was interesting

Apocalypse Cow - both title and premise.

I think what made it more unbelieavable was this was one of those very rare episodes where we heard absolutely no info about it until, seriously, the week or so before it aired. It just seemed so stupid.

Apocalypse Cow for me too. The first time i read it, i dismissed it, because i never heard of it before and wasn't sure about the title and story. Later i read the preview here in the forum.

some guy posted this back in august, supposedly from a friend who works on the show

    "Moe Letter Blues"
Based on "A Letter to Three Wives", with Moe writing the revealing letter to three Springfield husbands with marriage troubles that he has left town forever with one of their undisclosed wives. They're left to ponder who the unlucky one is.
i mentioned that employees are forced to sign non-disclosure agreements and he got spooked and deleted his posts

i thought he was making it up, because 1. everybody loves to play the "MY UNCLE WORKS AT NINTENDO AND HE TOLD ME BLAH BLAH" card 2. good god what a horrible fanfiction-y plot, but apparently it's real

My guess is To Surveil With Love deals with Springfield installing surveillance cameras everywhere...

I'd have to say the entire latter half of season 14 seemed fishy to me at first, seeing as that was the time I began using the Internet and was always stressed not to trust everything you read online.

I'm predicting To Surveil With Love is the episode with Sarah Silverman playing the love/hate girlfriend of Bart's.

Often, when I get titles without a plot or vice versa, I will try to fit everything with something until I am left with titles only or plot descriptions only

He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs - title

I just remembered something else I originally thought was fake.

Although we knew the title Milhouse of Sand and Fog for months before the actual description. I originally thought the description was fake. The official description only discusses the "Maggie has chickenpox and the intentional exposures" element in mostly the first act. The first thing I said was "South Park already did it" based on the quote "Simpsons already did it". Heck, when I saw it, I then said "South Park already did it and not only that, South Park did it better".
