I agree, too many cooks spoil the broth.

Another thing, before we go crazy scripting ten episodes at once we should first focus on an outline of the show's first season/premise/characters n shit especially if it includes story arcs, then write and produce a pilot and take a look at that before continuing. Because I've seen these things botched this way.

I'd like to be a story editor, and be a writer ( More specifically writing plots or episode ideas)

No story arcs. We are approaching the whole idea quite relaxed and calm, I think story arcs might mess everything up at this early stage.

I totally agree with you. The pilot should be a collaboration of all the writers and editors and we definitely shouldn't start writing more episodes before the pilot is completed.

Yea, like main characters' names and all those others things you mentioned. How "dirty" the show will be in content and stuff

Maybe the most important thing I want to figure out early before jumping on this is the tone. Will it be wacky or realistic? Dark or light-hearted? Slow-paced or quick-paced? Filled with quirky back-and-forths or deadpan one-liners?

I'd say that's pretty smart. Main character wise I think we should stay away from a bumbling/idiotic types as there are already too many in animation (Fry, Peter Griffin, Homer Simpson)

Ok, so far I got myself, Bea O Problem, Bella and Guy haines. If the others could post their credits, I would be... what's the word? I dunno, just post them, please.

I think it'd be cool to come up with a setting and create a character separately, then throw the character into the setting and see how he responds to it and stuff.

I would prefer it if the show is kept realistic.

See? This is a situation where a 'shit' is appropriate.

Realistic, with some freedom. We should be fast paced as well.

There needs to be more than one character to avoid going into just narrative or just talking to themselves. It also creates an interaction that bounces back one another.

I think 2 characters for now would be ideal, with an occassional third who appears at times to make things more interesting. The two could have a more fixated bond between them than with the third character, who kind of drifts into the story.

My personal favorite way is making it realistic in the way the characters act and behave with that slight tinge of psychosis thrown in.

Fast paced dialogue. Slow pace plotting? Otherwise, it's just confusing.

I getcha, kinda like the Seth, Evan and McLovin relationship.

Our characters should be fairly likeable. Meanspirited ones worked on shows like Seinfeld, but usually they don't. Just an idea though.

One thing to avoid in coming up with the main characters, if we do go with two, is the straight-man/funny-man dynamic. And if we do go ahead with that we should put some kind of a spin on it.

I really like ensemble casts with no particular lead character but that could get too big for a little flash series like this.

Yeah, the plot should move along nicely, as I don't expect it to be really intricate plots as we're working with 4-7 min episodes. Do you think we should create a usergroup, or social group, whatever it's called, for this?

Maybe we could have characters that just appear for one episode, or maybe even just for one joke?

Multiple characters could work well, it can give us more episode ideas to work with.

Nah, the forum discussion part of the groups is disabled now.
